Interesting, to say the least! Or is that the most!!! We just needed a coffee and perhaps a slice of cake to go with it, but sadly the fridge had died and there was nothing to be had. This "cafe" holds the word loosely...very loosely! It's in a dusty (very dusty) shed with an eclectic mix of tables and chairs to choose from. The "art" - and said "gallery" are what you'd call an "experience". A motley collection of ancient, faded, warped, rusty (and very, very, very dusty) bits and pieces that only vaguely come under the term art. Maybe it's in the eye of the beholder or maybe my art appreciation isn't finely tuned enough. I give this place 4 stars for the cup of tea, 5 stars for the friendly, obliging, (very) apologetic owner and 4 stars for the intriguingly weird atmosphere. Given that it's off the beaten track and probably gets supplies once a month by stage coach from Sydney, it's possibly worth a quick stop. If for no other reason than to improve your art appreciation for dust. And if you are REALLY lucky like we were, you might just be there to witness a meeting of the Dead Poets Society. These venerable humans had gathered to read and appreciate each other's appalling poetry. We were (politely) in stitches. Give The Crossing Art Gallery Cafe a go...they might even have fixed the fridge (provided the stage Coach doesn't break down). Sorry no pics - one isn't sure if one is permitted to take photos in "art" galleries and a cup of English Breakfast Tea isn't exactly...

Stumbled upon this lovely little café during a weekend trip to Cessnock and what a find! The coffee here is absolutely top-notch — rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I’ve had in a while, and the setting is so charming and unique.
The cafe is part art gallery, part local history hub — filled with character, vintage pieces, and stunning artwork. It feels like you’re stepping into a storybook corner of the Hunter Valley.
Special mention to Tony, the owner — super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the place. There’s a beautiful outdoor area too, with plenty of space to relax (and even a giant swing!).

Read moreAbsolutely adore this set up! I spotted the gallery and coffee, sign driving past and on the way back planned to pull in. So glad I did. It’s dog friendly and kid friendly (with supervision obviously) due the beautiful art pieces. This place has unique and nostalgic decor and holds a pleasant homestead feel.
It’s a great place with lovely personable staff. My Decaf Coffee was great, dessert was divine; simple and delicious (Caramilk slice yes caramilk so good)
Very happy with our visit if only I lived closer this spot would be my regular.
If you ever drive through here or even just plan a trip out to the vineyards I would highly recommend a pit stop...
