We must have gone on a really ‘bad’ day. The food was probably the lowest quality we’ve had anywhere. Dry chicken and a few pieces of sweet potato on a bed of greens. A lack of creativity and quality left us feeling ripped off. I’d be embarrassed to serve the food to anyone in my own kitchen.

We note that 86+ of the reviews are over two years old with many 5,6 years!! If you doubt my review and that’s what this resource is here for, go there yourself and find out. The place needs an intervention. Perhaps this will prompt one. We had visited before, years ago, and it’s gone way downhill from then.

If you provide a straw that is shorter than a glass, imagine what the food is like!

I always stop here when I make it down to mt Barker to purchase some of their amazing wines, but yesterday was the first time I have stopped for lunch as well. It was fantastic. A perfect winter menu with some hearty, delicious food to keep us warm and happy. And as always the wine is amazing. The rose and reserve Shiraz are my favourites.

On a recent trip to the area we visited on a quiet Monday for lunch - Clinton offered the best cellar door experience of all our Great Southern venues that we visited. His knowledge and enthusiasm to discuss the history of their family winery is great, and that's exactly why cellar door visits are so important to the local wine industry. Highly recommend the '19 Cabernet and their excellent Rieslings....
