I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Pump House Restaurant on the stunning Foreshore of Lake Kununurra, and I can confidently say it was a great experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, enhanced by the breathtaking views of the lake that truly set the stage for a memorable meal.

The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, and I was particularly impressed by the grilled scallops and the pork and fennel meatballs, both of which were cooked to perfection. The slow-cooked lamb and gnocchi were also a standout, bursting with flavor and showcasing the chef's talent. While the steak dish was a bit unexpected (referencing eye fillet, when actually it was a scotch fillet), the scotch fillet was still delicious. The chili crab pasta could have used a touch more seasoning, but once we added a bit of cut chili and salt, it transformed into a delightful dish.

Desserts were the crowning glory of our meal. The ice cream sandwich and honeycomb cheesecake received rave reviews from our table, and I can see why! Each bite was a sweet ending to an already fantastic dining experience.

What truly made our visit special, however, was the exceptional service from the international staff who were attentive and polished.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Pump House Restaurant to anyone visiting Kununurra. I can’t wait for the opportunity to return and indulge in more of their incredible offerings while soaking in those stunning...

Nice venue. Prices reasonable for remote location. Food above average. Staff sullen, frosty and overall unhelpful. People make the difference- sadly in this instance they let the establishment down. Management should take a closer look at their personnel and act accordingly. It’s quite simple - eg 1. Could we get a table? Answer - food doesn’t start until 4:30pm. Er that’s ok just want a drink we will order food later Answer - ah ok you will have to sit outside . 2. do you have beer on tap - answer- No, only bottles, yet there are people drinking beer from tap on the verandah. 2. Can I open a tab? Answer- I suppose so. 3. Later in the evening- My wife is suffering from midge bites, is it possible to get a seat inside? Answer - No - fair enough - it wasn’t the answer so much as the way it was delivered - no sympathy, no empathy- just a flat, almost don’t give a toss attitude. I never leave review comments, but felt strongly on this. Such a beautiful venue spoilt by...

Five stars all round for the PumpHouse! Perfect ambience with outside dining on a cool July evening. Five stars for Cosi our waiter. Very well versed on the food and drinks menu and offered us friendly and efficient service. Five stars for our food..Koftas for entree, served in a gorgeous mini homemade pita bread, topped with a mint yoghurt, absolutely delicious. Mains were scotch fillet steaks, medium rare, cooked to perfection and so tender it melted in your mouth, served with crispy potato wedges and grilled cos lettuce, which was definitely something different but perfectly complimented this dish. For dessert we shared the house made apple strudel with a creamy custard….devine! Full to the brim and extremely satisfied! The PumpHouse also has some interesting history so well worth a visit.I’d recommend booking as the venue gets very busy for sunset drinks. Thank you for a lovely...

Showed up Sunday night. No booking. All tables booked out hours in advance. Told off for sitting at table the were reserved yet empty, 2 hours before the reservation because we would leave drinks rings on the table surface and staff would have to clean again. Staff were rude. Drinks expensive and low quality liquor content. Visiting from out of town and unimpressed. Outside on the deck was lovely except for not being allowed to sit. Inside asked about sitting down as well and at 5pm told could not sit at tables that were booked for 630pm. Clearly this place does not understand hospitality. Felt like we were in the way the whole time. Would not recommend for the service or cost of drinks and rudeness of staff.

Not impressed with their $39 Loin Steak. When our mains arrived, our steaks and chips were cold! Salad was no different from the mine site camp salad, very average. The pepper sauce was rubbish, no pepper flavour at all and very watery! It’s a rip-off! None of the staff bother to come over to check if our steaks were cooked to our likings. Their beers on tap taste flat. We actually reserved the place for 2 nights for dinner, but we won’t be returning here for the 2nd night. Many people went there out of curiosity because the place was formerly a pumphouse but later on converted to a restaurant. Other than that, nothing special. We would rather go Hogs Breath restaurant for their steaks than come here!
