Iron Horse Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Launceston

Dined there Saturday night. We were a large booking of 22 and booked well in advance. Upon arriving for our 7pm booking at 703 we were told very rudely that we were late. Upon sitting down the menu on the table was nothing to what was on the website. There was 5 options and 1 entree to choose from. A member from our table found the dine-in menu and passed around. When waitress Annie approached the table to ask if we were ready to order she very nastily asked why we had that menu as we had to order from the set menu that was on the table. We asked why. She said as a large booking (even though their website says over 25 people) we had to order from the set menu and we would have been told at the time of booking which we wasn't and started snatching the menus off us. And rudely walked away from the table. Once she returned to take our order others asked about the other menu again. In the end she let us change/modify the menu. Could not fault the meals or the atmosphere. There was a lovely girl singing and once she finished and we put in a request asked if she could do another set but was told she could only sing our requested song and that was all. Greatful for them letting her but if she was able to do another set we would have stayed longer and drunk more. Absolutely the worste meal I have had since being in Tasmania. As for the service you could not get worse. Everything we asked for we had to ask 3 times over and waited ages for it. I will not ever return or recommend to anyone.

Food was OK, a little dissapointing about the oysters we ordered that weren't ordered. Mistakes happen and the front of house staff couldn't have been more apologetic. Credit to you all. But when reordered we had already finished our mains and decided to leave as they didnt arrive. Steak could have been seasoned as well as the special Prawn linguine. I only say this as I have been in the industry for 25yrs plus and I have always found that with food it's the simple little things that count and matter.
