We visited the restaurant today. Ordered Hainanese Chicken Rice, Penang Char Keow Teow, Shanghai Xiao Long Bao and other things. We were very disappointed with the standard of the food. The chicken rice and the Penang CKT are equally bad. We simply visited to fulfill our craving for Penang local food, yet got disappointed. If the restaurant were to operate its business in Penang, the owner would need to wind up its restaurant. The chicken rice does not have the authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice fragrance at all, and it was served without a small bowl of soup, which usually would be served for an authentic HCR. We requested, the waitress then served but she emphasized that it was served to us exceptionally. (May be hinting us that next time we would have to pay for that small little bowl of salty soup) To me, the chili sauce is part of the soul of the HCR. Here the chili sauce served tastes like the bottled chili sauce, not those freshly blended chili with ginger mixed sauce that you could get for an authentic HCR.
The PCKT was also disappointing. It came without lap cheong, but generous portion of small prawns. The tray of 4pcs of Shanghai Xiao Long Bao was not hot enough, same as the steamed golden egg yolk bun ($7 for 2pcs). The next door restaurant is selling $8.80 for 3 pcs. But honestly Chin’s one tastes better than its neighbor as theirs have more filling.
We have been overcharged for the food ordered but when confronted, we got our refund. This reminds me of one of the reviews that I read about this restaurant before visiting. Thus, just check your bill.
Overall, I would conclude that if you crave for something authentic like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Penang CKT, you may want to go elsewhere. We all feel weird after the meal, might be too oily. I also wonder what courage is needed for someone to have the audacity to set up a business selling food that he obviously knows little about in Perth. Is it due to the oblivion of the local market or the good tolerance of its customers due to the limited choices...
Read moreChin’s Noodle House is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The service here is impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who make sure every detail is taken care of, from wine recommendations to ensuring each dish is served at the perfect temperature.
The food is truly exceptional. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one exceeded our expectations. The fried noodles were perfectly cooked, with a delightful balance of textures and flavors that made every bite satisfying. Their dim sum selection is also outstanding—each piece is freshly made and bursts with authentic, rich flavors that are simply a delight. The stir-fried beef was tender and seasoned to perfection, with a smoky undertone that enhances the natural flavor of the meat. Similarly, the stir-fried chicken was cooked just right, remaining juicy and flavorful with a hint of spice that added a nice kick.
One standout dish that I must mention is the grilled prawns. These were succulent, with a slightly charred exterior that gave way to sweet, tender meat inside. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented, and you could tell that great care and skill went into preparing each one.
To complement the excellent food, Chin’s Noodle House also offers a well-curated selection of wines that pair wonderfully with the meal. The wine we chose had a full-bodied flavor that elevated the dining experience even further.
Overall, Chin’s Noodle House is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Chinese cuisine. We ordered a large variety from the menu, and every single dish was a hit. Highly recommend to food enthusiasts looking for a place that combines fantastic food with...
Read more3.5 stars Came for takeaway only. ~12noon Sunday. Venue: plenty of free carparks. Spacious. Quiet at daytime. Old style decor of Chinese restaurant. Tidy. --- 7/10 Service: busy at phone order. Nice staff at the counter. Not waited for takeaway. --- 7/10 Food: normal price for BBQ roast meat. All BBQ meat was hot, it could be eaten immediately. We ate those takeaway in 1 hour. Gravy and Plum sauce was given. Roast Pork, $23/500gm: the meat was hot, cut in various sizes, not well presented in the plastic box. Really very crispy. --- 7.7/10 Roast Duck, half, $23: well presented in the box. It had some sauce on the bottom of the box. It looked nice superficially because good meat (one thigh)was on the top. However, the duck on the second layer wasn't so meaty. Some parts of half duck were missing. Probably, they use smaller sizes of duck. Not salty --- 6.5/10 Steamed Rice, small, $4: scooped from rice cooker. Hot enough. Normal texture...
