just around the corner from me I found this awesome fish and chip shop and I’m so glad I did! Beautiful, tasty and fresh fish, potato cakes but you just have to try their pineapple and banana fritters – OMG, absolutely delicious! They’re so friendly being a family run business, from ordering over the phone to picking it up, they’re always so quick, friendly and affordable. Emily’s just a darling girl! Having recently moved back home from Brisbane, I asked if they had a particular fish that I loved from up there. They didn’t however had a similar one but what I found impressive was that they knew what part of the sea/ocean it swims in! I was able to get something very similar and it was fresh, plump and really tasty! Thanks so much for your wonderful food and really friendly service,keep up the great work! This place had the retro fish and chip vibe I miss!!

Low lighting, tv with the footy on and all set in a rad brick building straight out of 1992. It totally took me back to my childhood.

The food was good. Flake wasnt fresh but the batter was great. I scoffed it before I thought to take a photo so there ya go! It needed some lemon/lime and mayo. I asked for extra chicken salt on the order and it was exactly as I wanted - with a nice Mitani-tasting seasoning. For some reason the batter on the crab sticks wasn’t as good as the flake but they still hit the spot.

Service and prices were unbeatable. A flake, min chips, x2 dimmies and x2 crab sticks for $20…served with genuine smiles. Try finding that in Melbourne these days! In a weird way I love that they don’t take eftpos. Next door the lovely mum and her daughter in the supermarket were more than willing to accommodate.

I’ve been going here my whole life, and I get cost of living changes things, but this place has gone from what has gone from the best fish and chip shop ever to mid at best. For the past 5 months, every single time the chips are never cooked properly. They’ve been hard on the inside and soggy on the outside. Half of the time the food is cold when received, and there had been a series of mistakes on a lot of orders. I get it’s been stressful, but the quality drop on a lot of the food (potato cakes included!)...
