Booked for Christmas buffet lunch and was told couldn’t prepay over phone and I could just pay on the day. That took 4 phone calls for them to work out and let me know. Got there on Christmas Day and they didn’t have my booking (after 4 calls... shrug). The gave us a spare table outside, but didn’t walk us to the table only to halfway across the restaurant area and pointed and said sit anywhere you want. Did not explain or tell us the process of the buffet and then I got yelled at by a server as I wasn’t sure what to do. Yes yelled at, so much that another patron said to the server to calm down and came to see if I was ok. This pretty much ruined my day. The food selection however was brilliant and the food was tasty. The bar wasn’t stocked very well and the signage was not clear. My partner went to where it said to order drinks and then got told to go to another place to order the drinks. Very confusing. A little bit of attention to detail of explaining things when guests show up would alleviate a lot of confusion and definitely improve the customer experience. This was the third chance we have given Windaroo tavern, and unfortunately we won’t be returning which is a shame as the food is ok.
