Cafe Zen on Fairway — Restaurant in Macksville

Normally a 4 star rating but today the service was pathetic. The staff member was clearly having a hissy fit because her dish washer was broken. Part of my order was a lactose free hot chocolate.

When it arrived my wife queried if it was lactose free to be told curtly "We don't have lactose free", when I pointed out she had lactose free milk in the fridge, I got a snap back that " It must have come in last night and it will cost you an extra 50 cents".

The hot chocolate eventually arrived, but not ham and cheese croissant, I politely asked after it, again a snap "I'm the only person here", but it was obvious that she had forgotten it.

When it arrived...

Nice friendly service, coffee is medium strong and toasted sandwiches were great. At the moment you must take dog across the road to lovely bbq area but this will change soon so you can stay on coffee shop forecourt toe eat once new dog friendly on leash notices are installed. It’s a little bit off the pacific motorway (about 3 mins) but well worth a visit....
