Bladin Street Fish & Chips & Burgers ( GLUTEN FREE fish n chips) — Restaurant in Melbourne

These guys were an awesome local small business. Their food tastes good & is reasonably priced and for me anyway, it's always been served up to me with a smile on their faces (even mid-lockdown). It's really hard to find good, reasonably priced, rip out of the paper fish and chips, but these guys are all of those things - served with a smile, lemon wedge and tartare sauce. But it recently changed owners and none of this is the case anymore. Where the original owners would cook right up to closing, these guys stop taking orders from walk in customers well ahead of closing (even though its well before closing time, doors wide open) but only seem to cater to delivery pick ups after about 7:10pm. Kind of sad, cos that's not really what local business is about (as in serving local customers only, whom are also your neighbours). They're the only FnC in that part of Lav, so not sure how this will play...

EDIT- Food was cooked perfectly without having to ask! Really well cooked actually, nice and golden, crunchy but not burnt perfect amount of salt, not too oily, well priced but portions are slowly getting smaller :( Family have been ordering from here for the past 20 years, it’s always been the go to place .....now under new management-sadly they seem incapable of thoroughly cooking chips, dim sims and potato cakes. Thick sections on the potato cakes were completely raw, dim sims were barely luke warm on the inside (we think that’s what got the girly sick) and soggy under cooked chips. Upon ordering, I requested for my lunch pack to be well done, only to be greeted by something barely considered cooked properly... this is the third time they have failed to cook to my request, upon questioning I was basically told it’s impossible to cook something for an extra 2 -3 minutes till well done....

They accept support companion dog even when terrified with smile and when they come outside they'd never asked me to leave and still cook for my dog one special piece of fish almost got me to never come back when I knew they were scared of my dog however both ladies never said no and always always welcome me back with my dog even though they don't have to because I have not provided her i.d tag to prove support dog yet very good good customer service great food but specifically come here to buy my dog dim sims so I am glad to have met such friendly face in a small shop front on bladen Street even though I have not eaten him much myself I hope they stay and...
