Instagram: @ediblemelbourne You've seen their delicious beers sold everywhere; supermarkets, specialty liquor stores etc. But have you ever been to the brewery itself? Have you seen up-close the Shivering Man? A trip to the Yarra Valley is not complete until you make a short (or not so short) stop at the Coldstream Brewery. The brewery is located on Marroondah Highway, Coldstream, the gateway to the Yarra Valley so you'll definitely won't miss it. It took these guys many years to set it up, in what used to be a wool store. The Shivering Man, that takes pride in all their bottles, can be seen large and mighty at the roof of the brewery. In our quest for the best parma in Yarra Valley, we ended up here and, boy, were we happy. Exactly what you'd expect from a great parma, it is served with a delicious and juicy breaded chicken breast covered in tomato sauce and a blend of different cheeses. A side of beatifully golden fries could not be absent from a classic such as this. The pumpkin pizza, calamari and truffle fries are not to be missed here. Indeed, if you can, order two bowls of the fries - they are sooo good - especially with the amount of truffle cheese that they are served with. We cannot wait to return whenever we visit the Yarra Valley. Just remember to appoint a designated driver - you really want to try as much as beer as there is here. TIP: the mix of Pear and Apple Cider can only be found at the brewery itself so make sure you try that. It’s delish!

Fantastic meal. Ordered dips and bread, garlic pizza, spicy calamari, and mini pork sliders for entree. All were delicious and were eaten with gusto. Mains came out hot and quickly. My rare porterhouse was the best one I’ve had in a very long time (with bourbon maple sauce.)The Parma was huge , the other steaks cooked perfect and truffle fries are god like. Dessert was ordered too. Death by chocolate, trio of sorbets and an affogato all of which were amazing and very moorish (though if I had of eaten any more I would have needed a nap at the table). Thankyou to the awesome Chefs for a really delicious dinner! The bar staff are friendly and lovely (Thankyou to Hayley for three of the BEST cocktails...I highly recommend the Fuzzy Leprechaun) and the wait staff (Thankyou to Bert and Ben) are just the loveliest people! And Thankyou to Jaime for her recommendations! You guys rock Do yourselves a favour and book with this establishment! You won’t be disappointed.

Oh man, I wished I lived in this spectacular part of Victoria just so I could call this my local. This place is great. Seats outside the front and back, inside near the bar, or in a slightly more sectioned room for that restaurant vibe. Heaps of beers and ciders on tap. I was driving, which was such a shame - I had a pint of their 'Nectaron IPA', which was outstanding. Fruity, hazy, hoppy, a bit malty. My partner had the apple crumble cider, which had this amazing cinnamon hit to it. Not too hungry yet, so we decided on the nachos to share, adding pulled pork ($6) and guacamole ($3) as sides. It was delicious, and the portion was perfect for us. However, the bottom half of the guac tasted like eating raw lime rind... We took two stools outside front and enjoyed our drinks, food, and each other's company as we watched the sun set over Coldstream. Looking forward to coming back (and with a designated driver!)

Absolutely appalling customer service. My husband and I dropped in for a drink with our two two young children - we were not greeted at the front (even though about 3-4 staff present) so we went to a small table of 4 which did not have a 'reserved' sign on it (thinking we were doing the right thing). I then went to order drinks at the bar and was told from one of the bar staff that the table we were on had a booking and we needed to sit outside. We were instructed to take a seat outside (on a table that had a 'reserved' sign on it..which is why we didnt sit there in the first place)..and that someone would come and take our order at the table. We happily moved outside and waited for someone to take our order however no one came to serve us. I went back up to the bar to order drinks for my husband and myself, and was standing in front of the longest side of the bar with beer taps on it. One of the other bar girls who seemed to be polishing glasses said very rudely that I needed to go around the OTHER side of the bar where the 'ipad' was to order my drinks (which was literally at the end of the bar). Honestly, as a hospitality worker myself, I did not understand how standing at the main bar was such a crime?! I was merely standing at the bar waiting to order our drinks and was met with the most rude waitress, saying to me with the biggest attitude that if I wanted to order a drink I had to go where the 'ipad' was. We left without ordering drinks as I was absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated at the bar with my 5 year old daughter. This place needs to hire friendly, professional bar staff who know what customer service involves. We were absolutely appalled at the way we were treated today and do not recommend coming here at all. Zero...

I recently visited Coldstream Brewery with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The main issue we encountered was the brewery's poor customer service.

Firstly, upon arrival, we were greeted with indifference by the staff. It felt as if we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. The lack of attentiveness and friendly demeanor was disappointing, to say the least.

Furthermore, once we were seated, the service continued to be subpar. Our server seemed disinterested ( Tall guy with weird hairstyle ) It was challenging to get their attention, and when we did, they appeared rushed and impatient. which made us feel like an afterthought.

To make matters worse, when we asked for recommendations or information about the brewery's beers, the staff seemed uninformed and unenthusiastic about their own products. We expected them to be knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, but instead, we were met with blank stares and vague responses.

Overall, our group left the brewery feeling disappointed and unappreciated. It's a shame because the ambiance and beer selection were quite good. However, the lackluster customer service overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit.

I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the brewery. Improving customer service should be a top priority, as it directly impacts the overall experience and reputation of the establishment. I sincerely hope that future patrons receive better...
