Da Moose Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Not being a local, my wife and I popped in to grab a couple of coffees and a cake. The place looks great and is clean and modern looking. My wife ordered a Chai latte and it was great. I ordered a standard Latte and OMG was it awful.

It was burnt and totally undrinkable. We threw it out when we arrived at our destination. The worst think is I'd already left before I tried it and then I couldn't be bothered turning around to complain. I find even when one complains the response is usually " No one else complains yadda yadda" Regardless, we will never be in the area to go back but I cannot recommend their coffee. Very busy at lunchtime & great ambiance inside. Huge food selection that looked amazing. I chose a chicken schnitzel bun which was heated in the microwave first, & then grilled in a sandwich press afterward to crisp up the buns, but unfortunately, the schnitzel was still cold in the center which was disappointing. If you want something re-heated, specify that you want it nuclear. Otherwise, service was ok, a bit scattered in the way they handle the patrons. Would definitely try again, knowing...

I feel like a herd of moose would have been more organised than the current staff. After a few months away, my regular lunch stop seems to have changed. Looks like all the friendly staff have been replaced with new staff that don't seem to want to be there. Our food was far below average, yet seemed to cost more than before? Maybe its time for a little bit of competition nearby to force this place into pulling...
