High Ground Cafe and Catering — Restaurant in Melbourne

Popped in for lunch last week after not visiting this cafe for a while due to inconsistent food and service. It seems that the place has changed hands and the new operators have breathed new life into this place. The hot food display looked fantastic with a wide variety of dishes on offer and the salads looked amazing. 5 different salads on display when I popped in on Friday. I had the roast chicken and veggies with a side salad and was quite impressed. I think this place will definately become my go to lunch place again as I work locally.

Coffee is alright, but the owner’s just got this attitude. Rude, condescending and comes off like he is doing you a favour just letting you sit down. Feels like he is on some kind of power trip. Ive dropped in a few times thinking maybe he was just having a bad day , but really its consistent.

What really pushed me to leave this was when we called for a catering at work. The way he spoke to us was pretty off. No manners, made us feel like we didnt know what we were doing. Just rude.

Can not recommend this place enough. What a wonderful cheerful spacious place, Staff are super friendly and professional. Clean tidy environment with plenty of comfortable seating indoors and out. The food is amazing, I ordered the BIG BREAKFAST and oh my goodness, was not expecting what was brought to me It was absolutely Delicious. The only down side is I couldn't eat it all.
