KFC Frankston South — Restaurant in Melbourne

I would like to preface this by saying that it is the first time in my life that I've felt the need to write a negative review. This is the KFC closest to my home, and while there have been occasional minor issues—such as missing items or the usual cold, half-filled chips —they were always easy to overlook when other parts of the order made up for it.

However, I am compelled to raise a serious concern regarding my recent visit on Tuesday, 20 May at 6:44 PM (Order #1634). On what was clearly a busy evening, I was handed my drive-thru order in a box that was visibly leaking. The bottom of the box was saturated and nearly gave way—I managed to catch it at the window before it fell apart (drive thru footage may be worth a viewing).

Shortly after driving off, I tried a piece of the chicken and immediately noticed a foul taste. I put it aside until I got home, only to discover that the four chicken pieces were visibly undercooked and inedible. Additionally, I had ordered 10 pieces of Hot & crispy chicken, but instead received three cold Zinger fillets, which were also inedible due to contamination from raw chicken juices that had leaked onto them.

Given the potential health risks, I attempted to contact the store multiple times by phone, but my calls went unanswered. I then submitted a complaint through the KFC app and have not received a response to date.

Out of genuine concern, I returned to the store the following day (21 May around 5:30 PM) with the order (photo attached). The manager on duty (a young blonde woman) appeared indifferent. Upon inspecting the chicken, her only response was, "Ew, do you want four more pieces or a credit?"—with no request for the order number, no questions regarding the incident, and, disappointingly, no apology. I promptly left the store.

Unfortunately, I was unwell following the incident and remained bedridden for several days. While I understand that mistakes happen, serving undercooked chicken is a serious food safety issue. One would reasonably expect an appropriate investigation and a sincere attempt to address the matter—not only to resolve my concern, but to prevent future incidents that could endanger the health of other customers.

I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that the appropriate measures are taken to improve food safety and customer service at...

This is the 3rd time we're buying from this kfc branch and on all three occasions their food quality is disgusting... we will be calling food inspectors to go visit this shop now.. it's amazing that kfc branches in Muslim communities food are ALWAYS CLEAN AND FRESH...but our western communities fast food chains couldn't bother to prepare fresh food for its clientele...??? Why aren't food inspectors visiting more kfc branches in western suburbs... this was the worst meal I've had... I've had better food in 3rd world countries... absolutely disgusting.... get your priorities straight..

I tell you what, how about I get the Food Safety team from our council come explain to you since you alarmingly do not understand how fresh fast food should be cooked and look like.... your Food Safety Complaint ref number is 862826. A little hint since you must be new to food safety standards... Your disgusting oil that you clearly leave for months in the friers that you use over and over and over and over again to fry the food that you sell to people that's unsafe for human consumption by any food grade standard, MUST be changed as per food standard schedules.." The staff here are extremely rude, hostile and aggressive. A short girl with dark hair was extremely aggressive (at the window ), then another young girl also fairly short with blonde hair both take no accountability (also wiped her nose). To come through drive-through and have to ask for serviettes, cutlery, straws etc have them thrown at us (with a how dare you attitude, then slams the window shut). My daughter and I park the vehicle to eat only to find several items missing. The dinner buns had no warmth whatsoever. The overall presentation, service was really just an abusive experience.. I’m tired of this generation in these take aways joints , having no manners, taking no accountability , nor being polite and apologising when we are the paying customers, and there is no service provided, nor is there basic humanity and kindness!! . I said to my daughter never asked for this food again because I will not support KFC. There should be a reporting system to head office so they can keep monitor of what is going on in their stores, but there is not.
