Booked in for Easter Sunday lunch here - they were offering a semi set menu at $58pp including shared antipasto and a choice of main. Antipasto was nice, mains that weren’t pizza were great. Mum had the steak salad and enjoyed it and my aunt had the Barramundi with Mango Salsa and Roasted Potatoes which was also really good. Pizzas were really underwhelming! Toppings were generous and great flavour BUT the pizza base was sooooo disappointing! Floppy and totally soft! Either the bases were pre cooked to save time given Easter would be busy for the venue, or the oven wasn’t hot enough. Despite several wait staff enquiring on how our meals were and I did mention that both my husband and I were not happy with our pizzas several times, they didn’t do anything or offer anything instead. I ate the topping off my pizza - I ordered the Massaro - Buffalo Mozzarella and Prosciutto and my husband had the Lamb pizza, but we left the soggy bases as they were just awful. Desert we ordered one lemon tart to share. Great view and loved the venue but food was a let dine sadly ! Melbourne has so many great wood-fire pizzas - sadly this place doesn’t get it right.

Had an amazing day at Masssros yesterday celebrating my daughter's 31st birthday with 30 of my daughter's close friends . From the moment we arrived Vanessa made us feel like we were family. We had the smaller function room which had incredible views of the winery. Vanessa continually checked with me during day to ensure everything was going well. The exceptional staff went way beyond anything i have ever experienced before at a venue even though they were fully booked with other functions. The shared platters and pizzas were all amazing and they even boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. Several of my friends plan on booking for events they have coming up in 2023. Vanessa also is getting her son to deliver 2 bottles of the Rose Wine which i wanted for my daughter next week cause they had run out (no charge for delivering to Plenty) who's ever heard of that. I am already planning to return with friends for a lunch. Yes this is definitely going to be my new favourite place to dine with family and friends. If i could give six (6) stars i would. Vanessa and all staff AMAZING and thankyou

We came here around 2pm looking for a lazy afternoon lunch with some wine and were treated to the most amazing culinary experience I’ve had for a while. We were invited to sit outside until a table came available so soaking up the Kangaroo Ground environs is a nice way to start. Sipping on a Heathcote Shiraz made it all ideal. Within twenty minutes we were seated inside and a guitar player started his set but the music was ever so smooth and settled into the background perfectly. We started with an antipasto platter and then just got on a roll and had the wood fired braised lamb, Calabrese fried chicken, calamari fritti, tartare di pesce and olive miste. Now I would’ve taken photos of the food but it just felt wrong. So snapped some of the restaurant itself. Service was brilliant and a big shout out to our waiter whose name evades me but does credit to his country of birth Pakistan. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good carparking. High chairs available. Nappy changing table for babies.

Eagerly anticipating my reservation after several cancellations due to lockdowns. Finally made it to Massaros. Entered the front door found my way to the table chatted with my guests happy to be out for a lovely meal with friends. Our wait staff arrived and that is when the excitement ended and the disdain began. From the time I entered the glare of the kitchen staff and floor staff gave that very unwelcoming feel. Yes I've spent much of my time serving customers so I am familiar with this body language and outward display of hostility. Once seated the unenthused staff member approached the table and glared until we ordered off the menu as quickly as we could in fear that the kitchen would close and that would be the end of our dining experience. Once ordered our drinks were dropped off and then the food arrived promptly I might add. Well that was pretty much the last time we saw anyone on the floor. Once our meal was finished we chatted for a bit then decided to have some more drinks. The table had not been cleared and the floor staff milled around doing what the needed to do in the restaurant. At no time was the table cleared or were we asked if we would like anything else. One of our guest approached one of the staff members for some additional beverages. This was met with apprehension. Finally we were 'allowed' one more drink. Call me crazy and perhaps old fashioned but if there was a timeslot for service then by providing service you can then guide your guests appropriately by asking the right questions at the right time clearing the table and advising guests that before service ceases "Can I get you anything else before we finalise the bill?" . Boom the power of words. I'm not interested in returning and no doubt the proprietor could care less about this review I guess I'm simply trying to highlight the importance of good customer service as you have the benefit of your lovely surroundings, food tasty enough but my customer experience...

How anyone could give this place a good review is completely beyond my comprehension. I will start with the good point. The view is amazing. Nothing else about this place is worthy of any recommendation. The Wait staff are unknowageable, unhelpful & borderline pushy. I'll get to why latter. The wine for the most part is average at best but drinkable. The antipasto is acceptable. The pizza on the other hand were raw & doughy lacking in any amount of topping. When asked by the staff how it was my wife & I were polite & quiet but honest of our appraisal. Very soon after the owner comes out who was rude aggressive we were told to leave. My wife said she was going to wait for our friend & the owner attempted to pull my wifes chair out from underneath her. This woman need psychiatric help & should not be running a business especially in hospitality. Her attitude & demeanour would explain her staff. If your kids work for this wicked woman encourage them to find other jobs before she damages them. Futhermore she complained about the mess our dogs left. I always clean after my dogs, myself, my kids when they where little. Even our dogs where smart enough not to eat their rubbish food. The only mess was 2 or 3 small pieces pizza would take 2 seconds & broom to deal with. Do not waste you time efort or money at this establishment, there are litraly 10s of wineries with 10mins of this place that are completely wonderful & do deserve your business. This place however needs new...

Very hit and miss. Beautiful setting in a great part of the world. Friendly staff, no complaints about any particular staff member at all, but actual service leaves a bit to be desired. Several drinks simply never arrived after order was placed and had to be chased up. Food comes out at different times which is somewhat understandable with wood fired pizza, but staff don’t seem to really follow up the tables to check if everyone has what they ordered. I tend to think that is more a result of lack of leadership and training than anything else. General consensus on the pizza was that the base was excellent but all the toppings were way too salty and generally disappointed. Now for the really disappointing dish. The chicken calabrese with tomato on top was more like dehydrated chicken leather that has been reheated several times. Literally could not cut the chicken with the standard knife it was that tough. The tomato slices on top were wilted and just disgusting really. The ‘fresh’ salad could just as easily have been picked out of the compost bin. Some of the meals were luke warm - and no we are not into taking pics of our meals while they go cold- we’re old school and just start eating. I leave most restaurants with the simple question would I go back? For the price, absolutely not. There are some fantastic alternatives within 5-10 mins that offer far more for less. Shame because it really could have been sensational with just a bit more care...
