I don't write reviews for McDonald's because most of the time, it's such a bog-standard meal that there's nothing to say. This McDonald's is different as it has to have some of the worst staff I've seen in a long time.
You can see the other reviews and I second all of them. This McDonald's has cold food, long wait times, an absolutely filthy interior with overflowing bins and poor service. The thing is, the food is so standardised at a McDonalds - things like cooking times and portions are all controlled - that this drop in quality really comes down to the customer service side of things.
A lot of these problems could be solved by getting staff that are interested in actually doing their jobs. The staff seem disinterested in serving food or communicating with each other. There were often two or three staff members trying to do things that someone else had already done, or tried to do, and wasting everyone's time getting in the way of each other.
There was a woman who, while trying to make a Grimace Shake, pressed every button on the shake machine and when that didn't work, stared at it for a good ten seconds before aimlessly shuffling off. She stared at my bag of food on the counter, then shuffled back to the screens with the order info, before deciding to aimlessly shuffle up and down in front of the chip warmer a bit more. While that was happening, one guy was running up and down ferrying shakes from a working machine at the end, but he didn't seem like telling her the machine wasn't working, and she didn't seem to get the memo either.
Another staff member, who I assume was off-duty or something, just walked past the counter and made themselves a shake while one staff member was frantically trying to get drinks out and working around them. Another off-duty guy just stood in the middle of the serving area, having a conversation with another person. You'd think that staff members who aren't on duty would maybe stand back and let a working member do their job, but no, that guy needed a sprite right now.
My favorite was watching two staff members high five/dap each other up for about a minute straight, talking about how they would see that bro later. You don't need to see that bro later bro, you need to get those McNuggets out. All these staff members were running around doing a single thing at a time, hardly any orders going out during a rush of customers with 15-20 people waiting and lots of food sitting there getting cold on the counter.
That food in question was my food. My chips were unsalted and cold, burger was luke warm, etc and on top of that, my McNuggets were missing. I went back and asked for the nuggets and the guy stared at me like I'd asked him to roll a boulder up a mountain.
These guys have literally one job - serve food and you think it could be served properly. It's not like this is McDonald's Roof Repair or McDonald's Financial Advice, it's a burger restaurant. Read moreWent through the drive through at 1.00am and ordered a quarter pounder with cheese, no pickles, large fries & almond latte. Wait time wasn’t too bad considering the amount of cars in front of me. Got my order and drove to the car park. Quarter Pounder with cheese, two pieces of dried beef, drowned in enough ketchup to feed 6 people. It had pickles, even though I didn’t want pickles. The bun was like rubber……I’m assuming I got the burger that was accidentally left sitting on the shelf……Good assumption and it was cold…… Pretty spot on. Oh and last time I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese, it had one beef patty…….Ok so they needed to get rid of the meat….Fair call..Yeah no thanks. Large Fries…..obviously my fries…..Oh Lordy……Large Dried Fries…..sitting around for as long as the burger…. Hard and inedible. What can I say they go together. Almond latte…….I’ll get to that. So I start my car and head back through the drive through as frustration sets in. Explain to the girl on the counter my dilemma. Very apologetic…… we will make you another. Drive to the next window. Waiting, Waiting…..5 minutes into my wait I decided to look in the window as you actually have a very good view. Wow, enough food on the floor to feed an army, grease on the counters, the windows, on the floor…. Careful don’t slip…. What a pigsty…..and you cook food for your customers in here? Clean as you go? Yeah no. I have some great photos that I hope I can share. Oh there’s my freshly cooked fries….watched the lady make them…and here comes my freshly cooked burger. 9 minutes later and I’m supposed to be a happy customer..🤣🤣 Drive back to the same spot, fries are good. Open my burger…..9 minutes to cook another burger and I’m sure it came off the same shelf. Ok so now I can’t be bothered, I throw the burger in the bag, couldn’t be bothered with the fries as my appetite was gone and hey I probably should of learnt from the first one and the state of the kitchen. No one cares at McDonalds Rockbank. Going on first impressions, they don’t clean, it’s filthy and they definitely can’t cook a burger. I do not recommend this fast food takeaway establishment, and it’s not fast, really it’s not. It’s slow, it’s filthy, it’s greasy and it shouldn’t be there. As for my coffee, one sip was enough, it was not almond milk, it was not coffee. I am not sure what it was but I could taste some sort of caramel……..Was this some sort of prank? Get rid of your staff…. Really...
Read moreI have been to this Mc Cafe (Western Freeway Outbound, at Rockbank) this morning, on my way to Ballarat. Went in and ordered 2 Fruit Toasts, 2 Sourdough Toasts, 3 Hash browns and one medium Latte. Order was made on the Kiosk and the machine just made a noise but No receipt or order number displayed. Went to the counter and talked to a nice gentleman and he checked my order and told me my order number. Within couple of minutes, 3 hash browns were delivered to me and I was told to wait at the cafe for the rest of my order.
Waited there for 10 minutes and the coffee was handed in. Waited for another 5 minutes or so and asked the staff at the counter for my toasts. Very reluctantly and irresponsibly, she responded : It is coming. I watched her going in and out of the cafe to the kitchen, few times but my toasts were not even cooked. After another 5 minutes she handed (literally threw to my wife) 2 fruit toasts. My wife noticed that she didn’t put the cutlery and butter in the bag and asked for the butter. She asked : Do you want butter !? Don’t you give butter with the fruit toasts ? Finally our Sourdough Toast also arrived. Total time taken to prepare this small order was 25 minutes.
Not done yet : Since we were already waited that long, we went to the car straight away, and on opening the fruit toasts, realised that the fruit toasts were just the cover pages (two end bits of a bread loaf), which was totally unacceptable. 😡 Also, the bread slices were smashed into thin pieces, as she toasted them in a Sandwich Press ! Unprofessional 😡
I went back into store and gave the fruit toasts to the manager and asked her, if this is acceptable for a customer who waited for over 20 minutes. She didn’t apologise or said anything to me, but went to the cafe staff and asked her if this is what you gave to the customer. I waited there for couple of minutes and walked away, as I didn’t want to go around again and wait for another 20 minutes.
