During lockdown 6.0 when travel restrictions were eased, we had the urge to have Thai food which is different than standard Thai restaurant based in South East Melbourne and there we found Teerak Thai (meaning My Darling in Thai).

Tucked in the strip amongst other shops is this wonderland with amazing people, very warm and friendly staff who would really love to know what kind of spicy quotent etc.you would want.

So we ordered following :

Son-in-law eggs : Pics in gallery, unreal combination which we haven't seen in alot of restaurants across, has this crunchy fried noodles, half fried/boiled eggs with tangy gravy with diced veggies, bang on taste with that crunchy eggie dish and such a good play of flavors.....I had that in Thailand and to what they make it, it was strikingly closest which I have seen in Melbourne, Australia. Kudos Chef

Crab fried rice : Pic in gallery, it may sound another Chinese fried rice but it's not...next time if y'all go to Thailand and have food by beach and when you order crab fried rice their, this taste will take you back to what it's there in Thailand, absolutely delicious 😋.

Tom Yum : Pic in gallery, We ordered Tom yum soup and feel that we got Gang Som (orange curry) which also is amazing.....so we were little confused but happy that taste of Gang Some/Tom Yum was quite amazing.... 😂

Pad Cha : pic in gallery, tender pork pieces with peppercorn, was simply had me wished that it should not get over soon....OMG that was outstanding....Thai to the core....Hats off to the Chef.

I am going to return soon to have their Aroyy Makkk food and highly recommend anyone, even if they're far to go their, will be absolutely worth it, if you love Thai...

Do not eat here. This type of place is the reason I am so hesitant to try new places. There were signs tho. Only - overwhelmingly - positive reviews? An empty shop? Or when I picked up my order and the lady turned away from the counter, bent down to the white polystyrene looking makeshift eski on the floor, and retrieved my order.. I ordered chicken pad satay, vegetable spring rolls and roti bread. The roti bread was okay. The chicken, was grey (even when covered in the "satay sauce"). I didn't eat the chicken for fear of food poisoning (which based on how I'm currently feeling, I may have ended up with anyway. Only time will tell now) but ate, or tasted, the stir fried vegetables and "sauce". I keep putting "sauce" in quotes because well, it was water. It was water with a kind of peanut aftertaste (kind of how almond milk tastes like almonds, but unpleasant). The vegetables looked real though, tasted like vegetables (no satay flavour whatsoever, but vegetables all the same). The vegetable spring rolls weren't terrible, they just weren't vegetable. The spring roll was literally pastry with 3 or 4 corn kernels inside. Nothing else. It was essentially just crunch. Oh and they were served with a clear (entirely see though, no colour at all) plum sauce. The roti bread was okay nothing. Nothing to write home about but hey, it was edible and that was more than I could say for the rest of it. All in all, I paid $20 (which in hindsight, should have been another red flag - it was notably cheaper than any other place) for a few spoonfuls of veggies in water and potentially food poisoning. I wouldn't waste my time...

Visit this place again. Food quality is still great. However, this time round, the service is a little disappointed. While ordering, I asked if the sticky rice that come with the pork skewer is sweet? I asked that because we just came back from Thailand and over there, sticky rice is a dessert. The lady replied, all rice is a little sweet.......as soon as she said I lost interest in continuing with the conversation. I used to be a waiter for many years, I was told, if you dont know an answer to a question, just say you dont know but you will find out. Hope they train their staff with that. First time here. A 20 odd seated restaurant with lots of little deco and pictures covered the whole place. The food is delicious. We had Green Curry Chicken, Fried Rice and Pad Thai. Very close to be authentic and good portion. One of the better Thai restaurant in the area. Will try again. Expect to pay around...

Just had lunch here with a friend, and we had an amazing time. We had the satay chicken skewers, the Pad Thai with chicken, and a Pad Satay with beef, as well as coconut rice. With a can of soft drink added, the total was only around $60 for the two of us, and we both left very full, as the portion sizes were really good. I'm a huge fan of anything satay, and I think other satay chicken skewers might be ruined for me, as the ones here were the best I've had in years. Definitely recommend trying them. Everything was delicious, the service was great (Thank you to the lady behind the counter for asking if we wanted rice with the Pad Satay, as we'd forgotten to order it) and the atmosphere was really nice. The art and decorations around the shop were very interesting to look at as well. We went around 12pm and there were only 2 other tables with 6 or 7 people total, besides us, so it was very easy to have a conversation. We'll definitely be back sometime soon
