Attended for a family function on Thursday night. 10 adult meals included: wedges for starters (which were great) ... BUT ...
grilled barra & wedges: fish was dry & too tough to get the fork through in places. salads (fine if you're ok paying good money for a plate of lettuce with traces of other veg - not even a half a tomato per serve) parmas which were dry, tough at the edges (but not as tough as the fish) and which lacked flavour lasagne with NOTHING between layers of pasta. Just sauce on top of flavoured pasta layers 'slow cooked pork belly ' which was dry and tough, not fall-apart tender like slow-cooking should do. (The crackle - arguably the best bit - was an odd mix of crunchy, chewy as rubbery) with a seasoned smashed potato-looking concoction which had kept the shape of the round takeaway food container it was reheated in. Garlic beans took up most of the plate but were the best part of this meal battered fish lacked flavour and was also served with a pitiful 'salad '. Chips were decent though. satay chicken with rice - not sure where peanuts factored into that sauce but for the few bits of meat that were there, there was a LOT of it. 1 medium-rare steak was ordered but came out overcooked. Another 'salad'.
one of the LAST meals to come out (but the first ordered) was a simple chicken salad. Very slow for food to come out despite our party making up at least 50% of the diners at the time. was notified that the kitchen had 'Just run out ' of the seafood plates. Curious, since we made the majority of the diners that night. Staff were nice enough to offer alternatives and provide a complementary beverage for the birthday boy, though not 1 but 2 EXTRA dishes had been brought out which the kitchen had mistakenly put together for us (or were accidentally allocated to us) though they were returned to the kitchen.
Home cooks would do a better job at preparing these meals - perhaps why Thursday nights at Westside aren't as busy as they used to be?
(NB Huge props to the children's entertainers who were lovely enough to twist up extra balloons for the kiddies after a blow-out after...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had the pleasure of revisiting the Westside Hotel after a long absence, and let me tell you, it's just as wonderful as I remember! It was a lively Saturday night, and as I entered, the vibe was electric—exactly what you want for a weekend out.
From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by H, my favorite security guard. Knowing he was there made me feel instantly at ease and a bit nostalgic, too. It’s always so comforting when familiar faces bring that extra layer of safety and warmth to a place.
The venue itself was clean, which is so refreshing these days, and the positive energy flowing through the crowd was contagious. I had a small stroke of luck at the pokies that kicked off the evening beautifully. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a little win to get the night rolling?
After my mini victory, I rounded up a couple of friends for a few drinks and a fun game of pool. The atmosphere was buzzing, but we still had our own space to enjoy a good laugh. Every corner of Westside exuded delight, from the joyful cheers of those winning at the games to the friendly banter drifting from the bar.
Needless to say, I’ll be returning to the Westside Hotel in the near future. Whether it's for the welcoming atmosphere, my new lucky streak, or just to enjoy another round of pool with friends, I’m already counting the days until my next visit. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic...
Read moreCould have quite easily have been 1 star but the food wasn’t too bad but the staff however were rude and lazy. My partner’s daughter wanted a kids parma but they only schnitzel we asked if they could do a kids parma but “it was too hard”. How hard is it to put sauce, ham and cheese on it? I ordered the mega parma and asked for no cucumber in my salad that was “too hard” too. The kid’s meal came out first then just when both kids had nearly finished theirs both mine and my partner’s came out so we couldn’t eat as a family. My partner had a parma too so we could tell mine wasn’t the mega parma, I called the waiter over to see if he could tell the difference he said it wasn’t and he would arrange another I said don’t worry about it I’ll have it just refund the difference he told me no I get you another one. A woman came out from the kitchen a few minutes later with another one and not once did I get an apology from anyone for the mix up. When we had finished our meals staff refused to take our plates away even when they brought out our kid’s deserts and even at other tables dirty plates remained there. At the bar I ordered drinks the bartender rudely snatched the money out of my hands.
For a hotel at 6:30 on a Saturday night to be nearly empty is very telling that this place doesn’t have a very good reputation and with customer service I can see why because we certainly won’t be...
