Thanks again Amanda. As can be seen from the review after mine, Google is a public forum for both positive and negative reviews. However, I do appreciate the offer of a refund following our experience. Can you please let me know your email address and I will forward to you my card details. Thanks Daniel.

FINAL REPLY Thanks Amanda. It’s extremely disappointing to see a cafe owner suggesting that a customer would make up such a story or even worse lie about what they saw. It only convinces me that we made the right decision not to approach you on the day and the $60 that I paid without eating from your cafe is testament to the fact that I saw a staff member coughing several times on / near food and left for that reason. My wife and I do not pay for meals at cafes and then leave without eating what we paid for unless there was a genuine concern. Wishing you well over the festive season as well.

UPDATE AFTER OWNER RESPONSE Hi Amanda, Unfortunately in this case I was not mistaken and I observed this young gentleman for at least 5 minutes before I made my decision. He coughed practically every 30 seconds. coughing into his elbow when he was able to. However, he also coughed badly while carrying plates of cakes and cooked food in both hands which meant he coughed directly on food as he walked around because he was unable to raise his elbow in those cases. My wife as I mentioned is asthmatic and she certainly doesn’t cough every 30 seconds like that. We certainly weren’t comfortable after observing for that long and there was little you could have done given our own food preparation was well underway.

Went into the cafe, ordered some food and sat down. When I went back in to get myself some water, I saw one of the young male staff practically coughing his lungs out while serving, touching and preparing food. It may not be Covid restrictions anymore but if you care about people/customers not getting sick on their holidays, why the hell would you have someone working in a cafe under that health condition. I opted to put my wife’s health first and leave as she’s asthmatic. So It cost me over $60 without eating anything because it was too late to change my order or cancel it. Won’t...

Granted, it’s New Year’s Day, but after waiting 20 minutes for a table and then being told we could not order until midday (another 15 minutes) was a bit of a disappointment. At 11:57 we approached the counter to order the waitress said “we’re not taking lunch orders yet”. I asked if we could order a coffee and hopefully this would kill three minutes and allow us to place food orders. Unfortunately it only took40 seconds and we were asked to move aside and wait another two minutes. Our two family table of eight then placed our orders, one immediately after another. 30 minutes after ordering, our four meals came out. 15 minutes later, and still waiting for the remaining meals we had to ask as the original meals were well on the way to being cold. The next three meals arrived and after another 10 minutes we had to ask again where the meal (a bowl of chips) was for our friends hungry six year old, whilst watching meal after meal for people who arrived after us be served. A few minutes later it materialised. A couple of big tips for BBC: Get kids meals out first- EVERYTIME If you can’t serve a table of eight, don’t offer it. People come out to eat together. Don’t make it awkward by serving half the table and not the other. Overall, food was ok, coffee was ok, service was terrible. We...

A lovely little cafe on Nepean Hwy Beach Rd) at McCrae. Called Wildflower, with flowers painted on the exterior walls. Flowers on each table and some pictures on the interior walls. Some yummy looking food. Breakfast & lunch. A specials board. Alcohol available and some handy little gifts. The quiche & cakes looked yummy. A constant stream of people walking in, sitting down as I was, ready for their ordered meals or drinks. A friendly atmosphere, with a group of ladies having a good laugh. Tables for around 50 + people inside, and more outside. A gravelled car park over the road opposite the cafe, with pedestrian lights to cross over, so all is safe on the busy beach road. I would certainly pop in for breakfast or lunch by myself or with others . With the park & beach over the road, there is great opportunity for a walk along the beach or for the kids to enjoy the playground. Also, Electric BBQ and table/chairs in the park. I would make a booking if I was coming with a large group.. just to be fair to the staff and other customers because it got quite busy as I was leaving.

I would say this cafe would do well, being as it is and in the location it...

The Best Café on the Peninsula – A True Gem Wildflower in McCrae is hands down the best café on the Peninsula. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness – the staff are some of the most welcoming people you’ll ever come across. It’s that kind of place where you feel like part of the community the moment you step through the door. The food is consistently amazing – fresh, flavourful, and always beautifully presented. No matter what you order, you know it’s going to be good. I’ve never had a disappointing experience here, and that kind of consistency is rare. There’s a real sense of heart in everything they do – from the food to the service to the atmosphere. It’s our go-to spot and one we always recommend to friends and family. Thanks to the entire team at Wildflower for always being the best – you’ve created something truly special!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Wildflower Cafe, and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. The cafe is stunning, with a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the food presentation was equally impressive. I ordered a coffee, calamari, and the "Here Comes the Sun" smoothie. I'm usually very particular about my coffee, but this one completely exceeded my expectations in taste, temperature, and presentation. As a calamari lover, I can honestly say it was the best I've ever had. The smoothie was light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. Everyone at our table was equally impressed, and not a single complaint was made. Even though it was busy due to the long weekend, our food arrived quickly and without any issues. Wildflower Cafe has quickly become my new favorite spot, and I’m already eager for my next visit. I can’t recommend it enough!
