While on holiday from Perth, I looked up local vegan cafes that were off the highway traveling back to Melbourne from Mornington Peninsula. My expectations for vegan meals is low when I eat out as I'm often disappointed. I don't know what I did right in a past life but I found this gem of a café. The scrambled tofu is the best I have ever tasted. It smelled and tasted like eggs but without the guilt of any animals being harmed making this dish. Presentation was added to the experience. The pancakes were so yummy. Took me back to my childhood eating my father's pancakes. Those are still the people's champion's of pancakes but this comes a close second. Strawberries and coconut vanilla ice cream are the perfect topping for the stack of pancakes. The ladies that run this café are so lovely. The service was first rate and I felt at home enjoy this feast and a flat white. I wish that there was a café like this in Perth. They even gave me tips on making scrambled tofu like this at the home. Please be good to your taste buds and give this café a go. You won't regret it.

Great coffee, mushroom pie was delicious. That's about it. My old restaurant boss where I once worked as a kid always says to me "...smile for every, but especially the ones you've never met before, for they could be your biggest new customer." This was my first time here, and I guess those big smiles and connections are reserved only for the regulars. I may very well have just moved into the area, but they will never know. Perhaps the same reason why service was so slow. Took nearly 20 minutes to get my coffee, and the pre made pie in the warming cabinet, with less than half a dozen people around, and they were busy catching up with the next regular at the counter. The bluetooth speaker next to the coffee machine and adjacent to the communal table would randomly blast pop music (off someone's bluetooth I'm guessing) over their soft in house music. Super unnerving, just jolts you half way sipping your coffee. Anyway. I think final 3 star seems fair.

Hubby and I just thoroughly enjoyed lunch at the Wombat Cafe. I had the banana pancakes which were thick, fluffy and delicious 😋 Hubby had the not-chicken roll and actually asked me during eating if I was sure it was vegan! It was that good. I also had the gingerbread latte which was amazing, and Hubby loved his hot chocolate. Despite it getting a little busy for lunch we were served with a smile very quickly. All of the staff were super friendly and happy with all of that wonderful energy going right into the food. We will definitely be back, most likely often, as we make our way through the entire menu. If you're looking for great vegan food, this is the place for you! (Phots of banana pancakes and not-chicken roll after we excitedly dug in and ate half before remembering to take photos 😆)

During my recent weekend getaway to Dromana, I had the pleasure of discovering the hidden gem known as Wombat Cafe. Nestled in the heart of this charming coastal town, the cafe proved to be an absolute delight from the moment I stepped through its doors. With a delectable menu, warm and inviting ambiance, and top-notch service, Wombat Cafe quickly became the highlight of my trip

Ambiance: Wombat Cafe exuded a welcoming and cozy ambiance that perfectly complemented its vegan ethos. The interior was tastefully decorated with earthy tones, natural elements, and vibrant green accents. Soft, ambient lighting created a relaxing atmosphere, making it the ideal place to unwind and enjoy a delicious vegan meal. The friendly chatter of fellow diners and the soothing background music added to the overall charm of the space.

Saturday Experience: On Saturday, I eagerly explored the extensive menu, brimming with vegan delights. My taste buds were drawn to the toasted Turkish bread roll, which promised a symphony of flavours. The combination of textures and tastes was a true delight, with each bite bursting with freshness and wholesome goodness. To accompany my wrap, I couldn't resist indulging in a bowl of their homemade pumpkin soup. Creamy, velvety, and expertly seasoned, it provided the perfect comforting complement to my meal. Sunday Delight: My return to Wombat Cafe on Sunday brought me face-to-face with their tantalizing vegan take on nachos. The plate arrived piled high with crispy tortilla chips, smothered in a rich, flavorful vegan cheese sauce. The nachos were generously topped with a rainbow of fresh toppings, including diced tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and tangy guacamole. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, leaving me satisfied and craving more. Service: The service at Wombat Cafe was truly exceptional. The staff members displayed genuine enthusiasm and knowledge about their vegan offerings. They happily accommodated dietary preferences and provided recommendations with a warm and friendly demeanor. The waitstaff ensured that our orders were promptly taken and delivered to our table with care. Their attentiveness and genuine passion for vegan cuisine added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. Conclusion: My weekend at Wombat Cafe in Dromana was an extraordinary vegan culinary adventure, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds and heart. This vegan haven boasts a warm and inviting ambiance, a diverse and enticing menu, and impeccable service. Whether you're a committed vegan or simply looking to explore plant-based cuisine, Wombat Cafe is a must-visit destination. With their dedication to quality, flavorsome ingredients, and a passion for vegan excellence, Wombat Cafe stands out as an exceptional gem in Dromana's...

Absolutely love this little gem of a cafe. So many excellent vegan treats, a few great local preserves, candles and other clothing and small jewellery in their store. I love the smoothies, and there's always a great selection of house made cakes and food to eat in or takeaway. Really convenient right near the mtb trails, and I always go here before heading up the mountain to Arthur's Seat. Prices aren't cheap but it's well worth it for quality vegan food and drinks. Have had breakfast or brunch here before and was absolutely delicious. Went on Sunday and was happy to see they're open until 4pm. Can get a bit busy in peak ties so would be worth booking if you're after a dine in experience in the busier times of the year. Definitely my favourite Cafe on the peninsula- always make it a habit to stop in when I'm visiting the area. Such a wide range of choices means I think it will be a while before I've tried everything! The staff are always really friendly and helpful, even when they are quite busy. Can always spot some cute dogs out the front enjoying the place with their humans as well. Thanks guys! Will...

I remember my first visit, and I had made a comment on the lack of options for food. There was only a handful of meals you could order. However I have been to this restaurant 20+ times and only once have i steared away from the smashed avo to try something new. I know what you're thinking, 'smashed avo, its so bland and you can literally have this at home'. Absolutely not!!! I look forward to this meal every god dam week! I make it a weekly tradition to go and have my smashed avo on toast. Once you've had it here no other resturant will ever be Be able to compete with it.Trust me, I've tried. Ive even asked the staff what they use. I bought the vg feta and made the meal at home, its good but not like wombat Cafe. Every time I go in, I talk myself into trying a different meal....and I never do. Also they have great milkshakes.

The only thing I would say is they need to advertise that they only sell vegan options there. Ive seen people walk in and ask for bacon, eggs or milk and get very upset/embarrassed when told they don't do it. It would save alot of embarrassment with a...
