Stopped on the way from Mt Gambier to Melbourne. Bloke behind the counter was really friendly and informative they had a quiet lunch with maybe a dozen patrons other than my wife, Kid and I.

We sat outside in the shade and there were a few different high chairs to use and a play area. It was super quiet and peaceful and I enjoyed the sound of the breeze and birds far more than being blasted with music like a lot of other places. Food wasn't super quick to come out but it didn't feel like it was inordinately long. We ordered a fisherman's basket to share and some bruschetta.

The bruschetta came on thick softer toasted bread instead of a thin harder slice however it was really nicely toasted and topped. The Fisherman's basket was okay however the prawns were a bit hard and rubbery and there were only two small salt and pepper squid rings which was a little disappointing. The Mullet however was wonderful, generous in portion and well cooked.

Will definitely be back if we pass that way but will probably opt for something other than the...

Absolutely amazing place for a weekend brunch date with the girls or a romantic evening with the other half or even a family night out. The food is beautiful (highly recommend the Freshies Burger, the Vietnamese Salad and the steaks). Excellent kids menu, beautiful coffee, I mean what more could you want? Oh I need to mention the view of the lake is stunning, the decor inside is gorgeous and a beautiful big fire that provides that special bit of something only a real fire can bring. The staff are wonderful and all appear to love their jobs which for me is great to see. The chef is pretty cute too 😍. Highly...

So glad we found this gem of a venue! Located right on the edge of the lake with stunning views across the water. We ate outside and incredibly obliging staff "tweaked" the menu according to our requirements which pleased us immensely. Food, menu, wine list, location, staff, comfort and parking all more than satisfactory. It was recommended by locals .. always a safe bet!! I recommend Freshies 👌 👏 A game of totem tennis on the lawn followed by a walk through the local museum behind the Cafe topped off our...

Look at the opening times on my pic! If I knew my fritter would be so full of damn peas I might have ordered something else (I hate peas), but it was worth picking them cos it was delish. Missus got a roll that she inhaled, so I guess that went alright. Chef cooked her eggs the way she liked them. The atmosphere is chill and prices good. Accessible for W/C. Staff were super friendly. Cheers to the chick who gave us directions to a good 4WD sand track! It was epic af! For more reviews I'm on instagram: cultured_af

Advertises itself as a restaurant but you get a single throwaway wooden knife for cutlery and a cardboard box for for a plate. Inside - some of the worst takeaway fish and chips I have had, unseasoned so that’s a bonus for those of us watching out sodium intake and tasteless for everyone. Salad is prebought and comes with a squeeze pack of dressing. This was all for dine in. Oh and before I forget, the beer was warm :/ I gave them one star being generous but don’t come here unless you are desperate.

We stopped here for lunch on our trip back to Adelaide from a holiday in Robe. The kids menu was appreciated by the grandchildren, the craft beers were great. My wife loves fish, but is often disappointed by deep fried battered fish. She ordered the Coorong mullet just grilled and it was cooked perfectly. It was definitely worth the short drive off the main road. Sitting outside and looking out over Lake Albert was very relaxing. It broke up the drive perfectly.
