☕ Disappointing Experience
We have often admired the look of Rustic Ram when passing through Meredith, and finally had the chance to stop in. The venue itself is lovely and quaint, featuring beautiful steel artwork and a charming atmosphere—it clearly has so much potential.
However, our visit was unfortunately overshadowed by significant issues in both service and quality. The service we received was poor. The older lady serving was blunt and quite rude, which detracted significantly from the atmosphere. More concerningly, we witnessed her belittle a younger staff member. This created an extremely uncomfortable environment for us as customers. If the young woman working there is reading this: you do not deserve to be treated that way. No one should ever speak to you like that. You are just as important as the other staff. We hope you know your worth and decide to leave that situation.
Despite being one of only two tables, we waited nearly 15 minutes for two coffees and a toastie. We also observed a severe lack of efficiency, as a table of five received their meals one at a time over a long period. When our food arrived, the toastie was bland and dry, and the coffee was not much better. We left feeling incredibly disappointed. While the setting is charming, the combination of poor service and subpar food quality means we will unfortunately not be returning.
Suggestion for others: If you are looking for good service, great coffee, and awesome food in Meredith, we highly recommend visiting the local milk bar instead. They have lovely staff and consistently deliver a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Rustic Ram Cafe and Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Australia over the past six years!
I ordered the Farmer’s Breakfast, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. Every single item on the plate was absolutely delicious — so fresh, so hearty, and bursting with flavor. I don’t know what magic they put into their cooking, but it truly made every bite special. From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy bacon, roasted tomatoes, fresh greens, and crunchy toast — everything was spot on. It felt like real, wholesome food made with love and care, straight from the farm to the plate.
The cafe itself has a beautiful, cozy vibe. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s also a little treasure trove with a charming gift shop full of unique and local items. Whether you’re looking for handmade crafts, souvenirs, or just something special to take home, you’ll definitely find something that catches your eye.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy a slow breakfast, browse through some beautiful items, and really feel connected to the local community spirit.
If you’re ever nearby, I can’t recommend Rustic Ram Cafe and Restaurant enough. Whether you’re after a fantastic meal or just want to soak in a lovely country atmosphere, this place has it all. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreI don't normally leave negative reviews, so sorry to say our experience wan't great. The coffee was terrible - the worst we have had in a very long time, and we waited ages for it. It was barely warm and very weak. The cakes from the display that we had were definitely stale (either that or they were just plain bad). A cheesecake probably shouldnt chew like rubber and taste like plastic...I left half mine on the plate, and the other half I forced myself to eat because we paid good money for it. The waitress was not wearing a mask inside despite it being a requirement under current restrictions. Service was slow and not very friendly out front. To be fair, the food made fresh in the kitchen is probably what is getting such good reviews (we didn't order anything hot off the menu) but unfortunately after today we won't be going...
