Read the room.... I took my partner and young child out for breakfast. The front of house staff was very pleasant and was doing well by herself keeping up with a busy period. Food was mediocre, everything was very salty and the kids menu egg came poached. On the website they advertise boat hire. I enquired with staff who advised me they were short staffed and unable to hire out a boat at the moment, however I can book online. So I went and had a look online and it said the next available slot was later that morning. I went back in to enquire. The chef/cook approached me and asked if she could help me. I asked her if it was a possibility at all to hire a boat later when they weren't so busy as the free slots online says the boat is available. She again told me they are short staffed today and they can not do it. She then walked off, dismissing what I was about to ask (about booking in the future), and said she had food to cook.
Right no problem. My partner left a review stating the above (in not as many words) and the owner replied with... Hahaha read the room loser.
Now where do you get off calling a customer a loser? Name calling like a teenage bully shows how immature you are and is a direct reflection on you and your business. As a business owner, if someone has a genuine complaint, shouldn't you try to address it in a more professional manner?
Now I had hoped to take my partner out on a boat ride as a special treat for our anniversary, and naturally I was disappointed that due to being short staffed this couldn't happen. If you can't offer the service that is advertised, maybe you should have a way to advise potential customers of this? Very disappointed with the rudeness of the "owner". Please do better if you are going to reply to reviews. Name calling is not a good look for others who might be considering...
Read moreWe arrived in Merimbula and were recommended this place for sunset tapas. We walked the 2km along the lake boardwalk to find the cafe empty. However we were quickly challenged by a nasty woman as to whether we had a booking. We explained no and that we had only just arrived. Well she promptly turned us away saying they were full and you had to book. We then asked could we simply have a glass of wine until someone turned up. Remember there’s not one person here. No was her reply. We left dumbfounded and said we would pass her booking requirements onto our hotel so that they knew for next time.
My wife and I love dining out and take the good with the bad and rarely post a negative review but this place was disgraceful in how they treated us. Maybe she’s having a bad day we thought and left to find somewhere else.
Well we are then informed by our gracious hosts at our hotel that she rang them the next day and gave them a mouthful for sending us without a reservation.
A simple & polite explanation from the woman would have been fine. We would have even sat on a milk crate, Not a restaurateurs...
Read moreRecommended by a local and in a great location walking distance along the track 3.5km or drive 5min through the scenic hills. Food was good, great salads, burgers, sandwiches and coffees / cakes. However, huge let down by service ordered drinks which took 15minutes to come out and then when the food came out after 40 minutes they had missed a main only for me to wait another 10min whilst the same food was being served to other tables and everyone else in the group had finished I was stuck eating on my own. Very young service crew and either not experienced or understaffed or both....
