Pleasant atmosphere, fine coffee, chocolate a bit meh and misleading.

We went on Easter Saturday so it was absolutely packed. The atmosphere was nice despite this (it’s one giant room and an outdoors area), there are enough cashiers that we didn’t wait at all to purchase (quite a bit of) chocolate, and coffee was only as slow as expected when it’s that crowded.

Coffee was fine; cake was a bit plain (a Black Forest Cake that tasted just like a plain, dry, vanilla sponge cake), but also fine.

The cafe’s indoor and outdoor seating were each pleasant. And there’s a bit of a grassy are followed by easy-access to some bush that was lovely to wander around in.

A nice experience overall.

The disappointment is the chocolate. We’ve tried 3 of the 4 types we purchased and only one is really nice.

There’s this fancy looking purplish/pinkish chocolate that’s made by doing something different to normal with the cocoa beans (ie. the colour is not added, it’s naturally from the cocoa they use). But the end result is just s unique looking chocolate that tastes like sour lemon was added to the mix. Not recommended!

Then there was ā€˜Red Grape Dark Chocolate’, which we grabbed especially for the dark-choc and fruit combo... only there is no grape in it at all. In fact, despite the box being totally covered in writing about chocolate - nowhere does it explain why it’s called Red Grape Dark Chocolate when it is actually just plain dark chocolate. Very disappointed at this and tempted to give one-star for what is pretty much false advertising. And, now months later, we’ve also tried the hot chocolate - not bad, but the tins are less than half full.

The only nice chocolates we’ve tried so far, a very expensive box of about 10 small filled chocolates (including some of those classic alcohol fillings). They are really good - just nothing special...

Dropped in with our dog to have a coffee and cake, the Providore even though on the same property and probably owned by the same people didn't allow dogs even on the verandah. Not sure if they consider themselves more upmarket but most people have dogs they take with them on the weekends for a treat. However we were able to sit on the verandah with our fur baby in beautiful surroundings and order our coffee and cake. We were duly bought our delicious chocolate cake by a surly young fellow who didn't say one word even though we showed our manners by thanking him profusely. The gentleman who bought our coffees however was exceptionally friendly and talkative with a great personality. I decided to go and browse inside the shop after I finished my coffee and share of the cake, it is very nice to wander around looking at the big range of products they make and sell and I obviously a huge tourist attraction. On the way out a young lady was coming towards the door with both hands full of cups and plates so I immediately grabbed the door handle and pulled the door open wide so she could walk in safely and unhindered. There was not one word said in acknowledgement or thanks so out of 3 staff I encountered only one was polite, friendly and helpful. 2rds of the staff were rude and obviously had no interest in working there, probably okay when tourists come in but for the locals they would be very reluctant to return. All said and done the coffee and cake we had were great but some of the staff need to seriously lift their game when dealing with the public because their attitude can destroy a business very quickly. 2 stars because of them, 5 stars if they'd shown the same manners as...

A Chocolate Lover’s Paradise – The Margaret River Chocolate Company

The Margaret River Chocolate Company is an absolute must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth or a love for top-quality, handcrafted treats. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the rich aroma of chocolate and the warm smiles of the friendly staff.

The range is incredible—everything from smooth milk and rich dark chocolates to truffles, sauces, and unique creations like chocolate-coated honeycomb and rocky road. The free chocolate tastings are a lovely touch and give you a chance to sample before you buy (which you definitely will!).

The cafĆ© is a perfect spot to unwind—whether it’s with a decadent hot chocolate, a slice of chocolate cake, or a freshly brewed coffee while overlooking the beautiful surroundings. Their desserts are indulgent and generously portioned, making it hard to pick just one.

What really stands out is the consistent quality and pride in what they do. Everything is made with care, creativity, and premium ingredients. It's a great place for families, couples, or anyone who just wants to indulge in a bit of sweetness.

Whether you're a visitor to the region or a local, The Margaret River Chocolate Company never disappoints. Delicious, welcoming, and truly memorable—five stars...

We visited this wonderful place . It has an ice-creamery and coffee area just inside. Delicious ice cream is available and barista made coffee. Even hot chocolate drinks in a variety of fantastic flavors are available. The range of chocolates and sweets is incredible in the main selection area. The dƩcor within this building is fascinating. While you are doing shopping or tasting, there is a playground area for children outside for kids activities. A real gem found only in the Margaret River Area, Really nice place to get your chocolates. Pricing is quite reasonable. Parking readily available outside. As we dropped by to buy chocolate here. There was a lot of variety and a section of items, Lots of glassed areas where we could see the factory and making of goods. Off course there is free sampling of the chocolate from dispensers. At the cafƩ we ordered a hot chocolate drink. ( To die for )We were served almost within 5 minutes. It's a good place to buy some chocolate for oneself or as gifts. After our drink we decided 15min. latter to purchase ice cream. Again served within 5 min. Staff were friendly, provided service excellence. Highly recommend this place. Cosi Director Cavbiz.
