As a foodies person with attention to details about really good tasting food I've been having some odd experiences. We visit quite often on our day trips. We just came through today and purchase 2 sausage rolls. I'm sorry to say but they were not edible. The pepper in these is overpowering everything. My mouth was burning as if I ate a whole chilli.pepper. This also has happened to pies. Meat should be tasted and then pastry with a dash of seasoning to lift. I say this as constructive critique. For some people this might be ok but for children and sensitive to flavours people, this is a foodie nightmare. We also bought a curried sandwich with lettuce. Fresh crunchy lettuce and a load of egg, lovely but...just a hint of curry flavour and too much Mayo. It just tastes more like an egg with Mayo sandwich. I've had these before and have been excellent. Weve also noted the pies crust is nice in flavour but too thick in ratio to how much meat is in it. A good meat pie is mainly meat and the padtry is just edible wrapping wothout falling apart. I hope you do not take offence, these are My experiences. My family has checked my sausage rolls as I though it was just being sensitive, but both of them also couldn't eat them. We will see you again as we love freshly made food....

Although I didn't go to the bakery myself I tried the 'chocolate brownie', it was more like a mudcake with walnuts, but it didn't taste nice, it tasted like what you'd buy in a sealed packet from a grocery store, I gave some to my mum to try and she agreed. I suspect a lot of items are just bought in bulk from a wholesaler, very disappointed. My brother had a maccarone and was also very disappointed by the taste. Worst of all, my dad got a sandwich which was stale, he was worried he'd get sick from it. I remember this bakery being one of the best in the Midwest, I'm not sure what has happened to it, hope they can maybe start baking their own goods if my suspicions are correct, or at the very least find a new wholesaler who does higher quality produce than this, and I also hope they improve quality control, because I have seen other reviews complaining of stale food and cold...

Lifesaver! So the food is extra tastier by their kindness. We arrived by car after a long drive from Perth close to 7pm on a Sunday. Everywhere was closed, the petrol station and even the commercial hotel which was supposedly listed as open on google (btw, as passed the main street of every town from Corrow to Mingenew between 5.30 to 7pm, there didn’t seem like any places open.

The store was already closed but the family (Vietnamese I think) was prepping for the next day. We knocked, and they were very kind to let us purchase their gourmet sandwiches (~$12-$15), tart ($9.50) and drinks. We also tried their cookies, chicken and beef pies. Yummy! A business like that says lots about who they...

Really awesome bakery. The staff are nice and the place has a good feeling to it. I ordered a salad sandwich on the sourdough which was very tasty. Also had to try a steak pie, which was quite incredible. The shortcrust base is more crunchy, and the filling is nice and thick so it doesn’t run out too easily. I guess this wouldn’t be to some people’s liking, but for me this is perfect.

Handsdown The best bakery in the wheatbelt. Always a must stop location when passing through. Friendly service always with a smile, there's a park with kids playground, shaded seating area and a clean public toilet next door, parking on the main road and across next to the train track which also has some interesting historical facts

Very intriguing old artefacts in this store. Brings back memories. Clean and tidy store a variety of hot and cold food. Recommended by family to get vanilla slice, recommend others to see. Disappointing no bread the day we went, also brought a hot chocolate and coffee which was cold which again disappointing.
