I know these reviews can affect a reviewed business' fortunes, so I'll be measured in my review. My latè was just warm. I know good coffee should not be scolding hot because it burns the coffee which makes it taste bad, but lukewarm is too cold. I politely returned it and asked for another, which I was given without fuss, but this one was scolding hot and the coffee was burnt, ie it tasted bad. I just drank it. They weren't able to hit the temperature sweet spot, which a good barrista should be able to do.

Secondly, my bacon was soggy and just warm. As I'd already returned a coffee I wasn't going to make another fuss. I ordered my bacon and eggs using the app and hoped it would be well done. The app doesn't allow you to make specific requests, such as how you well you like your bacon cooked. I could have gone to the counter after ordering on the app to ask it be cooked well done but didn't bother. My fault that one. There's nothing wrong with soggy bacon per se and some people prefer it cooked that way. It would be good if management improved the ordering app so customers can make specific requests. I've seen this feature on other cafe's apps, so it can be done. As for being served bacon that was not straight out of the frying pan (not being hot was the giveaway sign of this), no excuse. Hot food should be served hot, period. The scrambled eggs that came with it were fine though. Hopefully management will read this and make some improvements accordingly.

(I know this is a first world gripe, but as a paying customer I am entitled to get better service than I did on...

I haven’t come here in so many many years. I remember when I was a teenager we came and they had huge muffins and hot chocolate. They still have muffins but not as massive as 20 years ago. Came as a party of 8 $240 approx with 25% as public holiday We got large latter Small latte Small flat white Ice coffee Carmel milk shake 2 banana milk shakes Pulled pork burger Beef burger 2 double egg and bacon Scrambled eggs on toast 2 French toast with berries Everything was delicious and hot. The customer service was nice. It was very busy and lots of seating which we managed to sit at a table with 8. The food didn’t take long to come. The prices were similar to Canberra. Only bad thing there is a lot of random steps at the back and no signage, as a nurse it’s very dangerous. There was an elderly man the fell and my father helped up. There’s no rail I really enjoyed my time having my meal it was pleasant. I would definitely come back. We usually go to bodalla when we leave Tuross for Easter home and it was a lovely change. Hot chips were yum. My eggs we so fluffy. French toast was so yummm....

Firstly, the atmosphere, decor, etc was amazing, very lovely little cafe whether you’re a local or stopping through. We also loved ordering through the app (which had lots of customisation options) instead of standing in a line. We ordered two burgers. Unfortunately both came out with sliced bread instead of buns as pictured, which we were not advised of and felt a bit cheated by as if we were given the heads up we might have ordered something different. Weren’t given any explanation or apology etc either. Was a bit awkward eating a thick patty off sourdough. However, the food was still very nice, would have just appreciated some communication about the substitution considering the price paid. Also, partners drink come out after we had already finished both of our meals. Had to chase it up and waiter simply shrugged saying there is a wait on cold drinks - even though my cold drink ordered at the same time had come out immediately. Overall, I would want to give this cafe another chance, seems like it was mainly an issue with...

We came across The Mossy Cafe by chance. We had our puppy with us, and they have plenty of undercover outside seating which was great. You order at the counter, which is fine, as it gives you plenty of time to check out their extensive menu. My partner ordered the Benny , which they were kind enough to change the salmon to crispy bacon. He loved his meal, his only complaint was that it was so yummy he wish he had more. I ordered the fruit loaf, after hearing people saying how wonderful it is. It’s the best fruit toast I’ve ever had. The slices are incredibly generous. I had it with honey and jam which was nice. The jam was a little too tart , however, it was a delicious meal. The coffees were made really well and the iced tea was amazing. We had a great brunch. Will be back.

Updated, it's now 2024 and my original review is still valid, except for covid. I wanted to add the cafe us good for gluten free, I am now ceoliac and the staff took note of this and advised it is a shared kitchen, however staff will handle food with care. Very happy 😊 they have options, also lots and I mean lots of gluten free cakes! Original review. We had breakfast, the place was very busy, however there are so many tables it did not matter! Good and coffee came out quickly and both were tasty and filling. The prices were reasonable. Staff were friendly and welcoming, while abiding by the current Covid rules and restrictions (Dec 2021). You have to grab a table yourself and then go to the counter to order. We will be back next time we are in the area.
