My partner and I stayed at Amaroo Retreat and Spa for two nights, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of incredible. The retreat itself is absolutely stunning – beautifully maintained, immaculate, and with accommodation that is both elegant and comfortable. Every detail, from the rooms to the restaurant, was spot on and exceeded our expectations.
What truly set this retreat apart was the people. The staff went above and beyond at every step, making us feel welcome, cared for, and at home. Jubilee greeted us on arrival, personally showing us to our room with warmth and friendliness that immediately set the tone for our stay. At the front desk, Rithmi was an absolute gem – her kindness, genuine personality, and the long conversations we shared left a lasting impression. She made checking out effortless, and her caring nature was something we’ll never forget. Her sister, who worked in the kitchen, prepared some of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had at a resort – every dish was packed with flavor and made with love.
In the restaurant, Fio and Gini looked after us during dinner, ensuring every meal was accompanied by exceptional service. They were so attentive, even noticing when the evening was chilly and going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Behind the bar, Rory served up delicious cocktails with a friendly smile that made every drink even more enjoyable.
We also treated ourselves to massages, and Amber delivered what we both agreed were some of the best massages we’ve ever experienced – the perfect way to unwind. On our last morning, we had the pleasure of being served breakfast by Lili, who was just as lovely as everyone else we encountered.
Every single member of the team contributed to making our stay unforgettable. The service was consistently amazing, the atmosphere was calming and luxurious, and the entire retreat radiated care and attention to detail.
If you are looking for a retreat that combines breathtaking accommodation, world-class service, and a staff who genuinely care about their guests, look no further than Amaroo Retreat and Spa. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are already looking forward to...
Read moreThe only good thing was the natural oysters, and they didn't have to do anything for them to be good. Everything else was boring, uninspired and bland; disappointing for a place that (incorrectly) claims to be "Perth's best dining experience in the hills". One of the entrees was 3 cherry tomatoes, 3 tiny blobs of blue cheese and some walnuts. That's not an entree. Not even at the most fine dining establishments have I ever received such a tiny portion size (not to mention so basic) claiming to be an entree. The barramundi was bland and the romesco did not go with it at all. The silverbeet was undercooked and contained lots of stem portions. The pork came with two pieces of plain broccoli and a tiny bit of creamy sauce on the plate. There was no jus or anything of the sort to try and moisten up the dry lump of pork. Needless to say, we didn't bother staying for desert. Did we tell them? Of course not. If they don't already know how terrible their food is then they shouldn't be in the industry. It would have just been a confronting situation for nothing. To top it all off, we had ticked the "anniversary" box and I had even written in the comments which anniversary it was. This wasn't even acknowledged at all- not even a "happy anniversary". What is the point in having the check box? They supposedly pride themselves on romantic dinners. We even got a babysitter for our anniversary- what a waste. The server herself was without personality and acted like she didn't want to be there. The most hilarious thing about the experience was the tables were covered in white BUTCHERS PAPER. Perhaps if it was fine dining instead of "semi-fine dining" they would have put real tablecloths...
Read more4 months ago I posted a 5 star review. Disappointed to say tonight's experience wasn't the same. My family took my Mum for dinner this evening and we were well aware of the public holiday surcharge, no worries there if the meal was worth while. I had told them all how awesome this place...
However, the food and service were below average to say the least. Entrée's were cold and took ages to arrive, prawns were mediocre and undercooked, the mains were nice, we had the barramundi. Were talked into dessert, one of which was supposed to be an 'apple crumble' but represented a sad apple pie mad from puff pastry...not anything close to resembling apple crumble...
Our original server didn't once approach the table to ask if we'd like more drinks or to see how our meals were. We had to call her back when we'd originally ordered to ask for a drinks order. Throughout our meals we weren't approached again, there was no replenishing the finished water. Only once we'd finished our entrèes and mains we were asked if we needed anything else.
On booking the reservation I specified allergy requirements, as requested through the website but had to remind them about this...
On paying I let the hostess know that we were disappointed and that every other experience here was great and her response was "I'll let them know", hence the reason we are leaving this review. There was no attempt to appease our subpar experience. If it wasn't such a disappointing experience we wouldn't have minded paying for such an expensive evening but the subpar experience made the price and 20% surcharge make the local pub look more appealing and probably...
