We were a party of 6 looking to go for a drive for lunch, a few beers and bets. When we got to tavern ordered our first beers as we were early for lunch. Went to have a few bets only to find machines were not working correctly. Despite repeated attempts to get the girls behind the bar to find out what was wrong we were just told dogs and horses must have been scratched. They finally got someone else to have a look but in the meantime one of the locals informed us they were showing races from 9 days ago. When we told this to bar staff and that we would probably go somewhere else we got the famous eye roll and laughter between the 2 female bar staff. Needles to say we did leave and went and had a very enjoyable afternoon eating, drinking and gambling at Marri Park. I would not recommend you go to Mundijong Tavern if you are looking for customer service. The 2 staff there today were absolutely rude and are not into customer service. Don’t judge a book by its cover – this old heritage building might look unassuming from the outside, but step inside and you’ll quickly see why it’s so clearly loved by the locals. Let me explain this rating.... We've been here a couple of times and it's had reliably good food, until tonight... I ordered the "Crispy Pork Belly"... that was as far from crispy as you can get... it was soggy, even though it looked like it should be crispy... the pork was luke warm, vegies room temperature and the sauce was cold... the only thing that was near acceptable temp for a hot meal were the chips that i had swapped in instead of mashed potato... very disappointing... and it's almost as if asking for a refund is the norm... no offer to make it good and provide the meal I ordered... no apology... just refunded with no further engagement... My partner's meal smelt delicious and he was happy with it... we will return, but I'll be sticking with very basic meals, that are hard to get wrong, on...
