First time back after about 8 years or so and was really looking forward to it from such wonderful experiences in the past. Very sad to say it's gone down hill quite a lot. Staff in the restaurant seem very overwhelmed, pizzas were just ok with way too much flour. The location and setting is still just as beautiful. Last time we were here the tasting room was a buzz with activity; had a huge amount of assorted local produce like olives, spreads, oils and other little bits and the room was packed with people buying them in addition to the wines but today it was completely empty save for the 1 tasting group in there. Would have loved to taste and buy some wines but it's clear they're struggling, maybe even can't cope or just given up. Really sad.

We stumbled across this little hidden gem whilst celebrating our wedding anniversary in Mudgee (hence the wedding dress). Lucky for us, they were one of the only wineries serving lunch on a Tuesday! The venue is so beautiful—we sat out in the garden overlooking the water, watching the swans and ducks swim about. The service was incredible; the owner was so sweet and made the day one to remember. The food was also amazing—the produce was incredibly fresh & everything tasted amazing. We had a number of share plates and a gluten-free pizza to share, and it’s one of the best gluten-free pizza bases we’ve ever had. Plus, if you love dogs, you may be lucky enough to get a cuddle from Maestro Highly recommend—thanks for the beautiful day ❤️

What a beautiful find for a Sunday afternoon lunch! I love an outdoor alfresco setting with water views (and the lovely fountain, catering to a wide variety of birdlife and lilypads) and this space met expectations to what it looked like online. We had friendly service from the moment we arrived and the cuisine was Italian which I love. The prawn and crab pasta that I had was the perfect portion and delicious flavours and my mother said the crisped skin salmon was one of the best meals she ever had. I would love going back to have one of their fig dinners or any other special events if we travel through Mudgee next. Make sure to check this amazing space out in Mudgee as it’s less than 10 minutes outside of town.

I have never experienced such bad service in my life, which culminated in the owner having a go at us!!

We made a booking for 2:15, and arrived for our booking but it hadn’t been taken down properly and we were essentially told this was our fault. They then told us, as we had booked to eat as well, to do that, which we did. We had to clear our own table, find our own menus, and when we were eventually given our water, we weren’t given any cups.

The food was over priced and was served individually, over the course of 45 minutes, so we didn’t get to eat together. We weren’t given any cutlery or napkins or any other things normally provided.

We then went to go in for the tasting, as we were instructed to do initially. The owner then went on a tangent in front of other customers, having a go at us for coming so late, and stated he was very grumpy as he had done so many tasting and that we shouldn’t have come so late and scolded us for visiting another vineyard. He spoke to us like we were naughty children. When we again said we had booked for 2:15, but they had messed up our booking (which they never apologised for) the owner again went on an angry tangent. We then offered to just leave as he wad acting like it was such an inconvenience, he then said to stay, but again went on a tangent. We declined to stay after being treated so badly and paid our bill and left.

We were nothing but polite and accomodating, after they messed up our booking. But, to be scolded for something that they had messed up, was wildly inappropriate, especially given the completely terrible service. We did speak to one gentleman who was helpful and apologetic. Overall, I would not even recommend this to...

Dining at Di Lusso was a journey — not a culinary one, but more of a social experiment in patience and garlic endurance.

We intended to kick off our meals with an entree of Arancini & Beef carpaccio only to be told they were unavailable. Apparently, these items exist only as mythical creatures on the menu, like unicorns or attentive waitstaff. It was like playing entrée roulette and landing on “nothing.”

We proceeded to order mains the Chilli Prawn & Crab Pasta, which, I’m convinced, was less of a dish and more of a vampire repellent experiment gone terribly wrong. The garlic was so overwhelming I’m fairly certain my breath is now considered a controlled substance in several countries. The crab? Might’ve been in witness protection — I couldn’t find it under the garlic avalanche.

Then came the Lamb Cutlets with “baked potatoes”. Spoiler alert: the baked potatoes were actually hot chips in a clever little potato cosplay. It’s like the chef was playing a prank and nobody told the menu. The lamb itself was delicious & luckily had a side of broccolini to save the meal.

Our designated waitperson — a young woman — was too busy waiting other tables to bring us the bill. We eventually had to tally up our own total like rogue accountants on a field trip. A young guy was dragged away from hosting wine tastings to process our payment. He seemed mildly confused but also just happy to be included.

All in all, if you’re in the mood for a meal with a side of chaos, a mountain of garlic, and the sweet satisfaction of doing your own maths at the end, this is your spot.

Would not recommend — unless you’re training for a garlic-eating contest or just really enjoy...

I would strongly urge people not to visit Di Lusso Estate as my experience there was the worst I have ever encountered at any restaurant or cafe. I booked a table well in advance for my best friend's birthday (8 of us). When we arrived the lady said she would bring the food and drinks menu over and water. Water nor menus never came. We had to collect the water ourselves and pesker the waiters and/or owners to even be served drinks, let alone food. On numerous occasions we asked if we could please even order a drink. 2hrs later we were able to put our orders in. 1.5hrs later SOME of our table of guests (we are all locals), received their meals. 3 of our 8 guests never received their orders. A friend and I went inside to ask what had happened to the three orders and their reply was that the kitchen was shut for the day and that they had run out of everything. We weren't communicated this until going up to investigate. As part of that conversation, both owners (an older married couple) were INCREDIBLY rude. Only some of the comments included, "bookings mean nothing", "just bloody go and get Macca's then", "are you calling me a liar?!", "you better not be calling my wife a liar". I was shaking of anger, frustration, disappointment, shock and sadness to have been spoken to in such a childish, unprofessional manner. At no point did a raise my voice, and yet still was yelled at by BOTH owners of the estate. Being a local who has been to the establishment when I was younger even, I'm beyond disgusted in this treatment and urge people not to visit or support the...
