Green View Cafe / Lourdes — Restaurant in New South Wales

This cafe is in a lovely spot, but unfortunately it’s being run by very young and inexperienced staff. It’s not their fault, they’re doing their best, but the owners really should take more responsibility. Also, $12.50 for a stale, thawed slice of cake is pretty outrageous. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Firstly, leaving work experience students to run the floor without proper support is not just unfair to them, it’s unacceptable from a customer service perspective. If they're not equipped to manage a busy café, that’s the responsibility of the business, not something customers should have to tolerate.

Regarding the cake, it was stale, and charging $12.50 for a thawed slice that clearly wasn’t fresh is disappointing. Why should a paying customer have to bring that up on the spot? When you charge premium prices, customers should reasonably expect quality without needing to chase it.

Yes, costs have gone up, we all know that, but so have our living expenses, and many of us aren’t seeing increases in our salaries. We go out for lunch expecting a decent experience without feeling ripped off. The old saying still holds: customers are your business, treating them well and delivering value should be your priority.

And finally, the comment “Good on you using your keyboard for good” was unnecessary and passive-aggressive. If customers don’t speak up, how else will businesses know where they’re falling short?

Green View Café absolutely nailed it. Great location with plenty of parking (a rarity these days), and even on a rainy day, it had a calm, peaceful vibe that made the dreariness outside feel a bit less miserable. Let me start by shouting out the lovely Lilly (if it's with 1 L I am so sorry tell me and I'll change it) an absolute gem. Warm, funny, and with customer service skills that are honestly top tier. Her banter was on point, and the way she connected with us felt real not that forced fake-nice stuff you sometimes get. She made the whole place feel welcoming. I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon, added a hash brown, and paired it with a chai latte. When I noticed I’d been given mushrooms instead of the hash brown (which, to be fair, I LOVE), I mentioned it and the wonderful lady from the kitchen (wish I got her name!) was incredibly sweet and apologetic. My hash brown came out just moments later with a genuine smile from Lilly. The food? Delicious. Bacon? crispy and cooked just right. Benedict? Best I've had in ages. The mushrooms? Heaven. Hash brown? Worth the wait. And the chai latte genuinely warmed my soul on such a cold, wet day. The view was stunning, peaceful, and honestly made me want to stay for hours. OMG😋this place is definitely for me💝I only live around the corner at my mums place since I moved up from Sydney last year to care for her 24/7 and we knew the place when it was originally opened.👍 I often told my brothers who came from NZ and my siblings from the Gold Goast that one day ill pop in to check. Wow, I was heading to Erina Fair this morning to have brekkie before I visit my mum @ the Respite. I'm so thankful I came. The Service, food and atmosphere are to die for💝 employees were all very friendly, no wait for your food longer😋 So, I ordered a piccolo, Relief fruit with ginger drink to relax me a little bit😊but then my eggs bennie arrived containing salmon, bacon, English muffin with spinach and my favourite hollandaise sauce😋🥘🧃It was absolutely 💯 delicious😋One of my mum's builder came here few times for brekkie last year, and he mentioned how delicious the food was😋🥰 Gosh, i definitely recommend this place to those who want a healthy hearty delicious brekkie or lunches😋I give 100 points over 10, it's 10 times better than any cafes at ErinaFair shopping centre🫶.
