I used to come here as a child with my parents and then started bringing my own children many weekends over the year and staying overnight in the accomodation. Decided to visit with my daughter, brother and father today after many years of living in NZ. Very disappointed in the ‘service’ by staff today. It’s a real let down when you go back to somewhere after many years of memories only to find you are let down. Seems now that the pub is not very child-friendly and I wonder how much of their ‘children will be sold as slaves’ and ‘children will be turned into pies’ have hidden meanings? The chap at the bar was not very welcoming. Even worse was the chef, a bearded chap who just did not seem to want to be there in the slightest. Not even slightly warm (and I’ve been in customer service/airline industry many years). He did not smile and you, well, just could not warm to the guy. Ordered the kids nuggets and chips for my daughter which came with a drink and ice cream but at no point was the drink or ice cream given or instructions on how to get them by the chef. I winged it by asking for the drink at the bar. I had the Wagyu beef burger which, personally for me, was nice. Real lettuce, nice seasoned meat and lovely chips. My father and brother had rump steak and the chicken breast which they thought was quite average at best. At the end I asked in the kitchen for the ice cream that my daughters meal came with and said “Chocolate will be fine” and the bearded chef rudely said “It just comes in a cup”, handed me the ice cream cup and then slammed the door of the kitchen in my face with a p off attitude. Oh well, some things change over time. This is probably one of those things. Maybe we came on a bad day reading other reviews. Maybe the staff need to come to NZ to learn how to be friendly and what customer service really means. Who knows. Either way, would not go out of my way again. Darren Masters-Journalist-The...

The Good: A fantastic little historical pub with a true Aussie heart — and a must-visit for any football fan. Jamberoo Pub pays tribute to the legendary Johnny Warren, affectionately known as Captain Socceroo. The on-site Johnny Warren Museum is a real highlight, packed with memorabilia that celebrates not just Johnny’s legacy but the evolution of soccer in Australia. You’ll find everything from jerseys and trophies to newspaper clippings and rare photos — including a signed 1974 World Cup jersey and a beautiful shot of a young Jamie Warren (Johnny’s nephew and the pub’s current owner) with none other than Pelé.

Beyond the museum, the pub itself is warm and welcoming with a charming historic feel. It’s a great spot for a casual drink, a bite to eat, and a walk through Aussie sporting history.

Room for Improvement: Nothing major — it’s more about the nostalgia and experience than anything ultra-modern.

Would I Return? Absolutely. A hidden gem with heart and heritage.

The Verdict: Jamberoo Pub is more than just a pub — it’s a living tribute to an Australian sporting icon. A unique blend of local history, football pride, and good old-fashioned...

Located at 12 Allowrie Street, Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. Edit - I have been several times now to Jamberoo Pub. I always drop in when passing through the town. 🥰. I always get lost in looking at the walls. It fascinates me. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff are always great and the food delicious 😋. A quality Pub in a little country town to stop for a drink and some great food. Its such a great looking place with the design really welcoming and something to look at everywhere you turn. The Bistro menu offers a great selection of meals to choose from. I had the chicken breast and it was lovely, really delicious. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. There’s also accommodation at Jamberoo Pub. You have a choice of staying in the separate nine unit motel wing with all rooms containing an ensuite. Or there’s nine recently refurbished pub style rooms with communal bathrooms. The live entertainment on the weekends are great, really nice to sit and listen to or dance. I would definitely recommend....

In the year 2010, amidst my two-year adventure in Australia, I stumbled upon a gem in Sydney, a vibrant jumper in second-hand shop. Months later, as I traversed the winding roads of a spontaneous road trip, fate led me to a quaint establishment in a town lost to memory. Little did I know, the jumper draped over my shoulders would become the subject of intrigue, catching the eye of a passerby who proclaimed its connection to a famed local pub. The revelation was a delightful surprise, a thread weaving through the tapestry of my travels. Yet, it wasn't until fifteen years later, amid the vibrant streets of Berlin, that the full significance of my cherished jumper was revealed. As I sit here, reminiscing on adventures past and journeys yet to come, I find solace in the warmth of my beloved garment, a timeless reminder of the stories it holds and the memories it embodies. With fond regards from Berlin.
