My husband and I went in today for a thickshake. When picking them up I had grabbed some of their other goodies that are displayed around the store and told the girl who called us over that I needed to pay for the lollies. Walking over to the register after grabbing our shakes I took a gulp of mine. It was so thin, tasted as if it were made on lite milk and very little flavour. I asked the girl if they were thickshakes and she said yes. I took another small sip and said "I'll be honest they taste like milkshakes they're really thin". She stared for a moment like she was confused as to why I would feel the need to tell her that and replied "Do you want the money back of the difference between a milkshake and thickshake?" I was surprised by her response as it was fairly curt and in a clearly disinterested tone. I said no, that wasn't my point at all, I'm trying let you know it's pretty ordinary. She then says "Well I didn't make it", checked my payment went through and flounced away. I wasn't looking for a refund (maybe a scoop of ice-cream but i digress) but her complete lack of customer service was astounding. At $8.20 a thickshake you expect some ice-cream. After looking at other reviews it seems the service here could use a revamp. Will not be returning, there is another small cafe 5kms down the road near Woolworths which I think many tourists are unaware of and think this is their only option close to...

Amazing coffee and super friendly service!

Stopping for petrol, coffee and some food on your way up north is far better done in Kew, rather than trying to fight with the masses at a giant roadhouse.

The locals are friendly, relaxed and welcoming, with many stopping for a chat, and their little corner store (which is directly across from the petrol station) has everything you need to refuel yourself. The Cafe has indoor and outdoor seating areas with brilliant coffee, a range of yummy food to suit everyone, plus their takeaway range is great too. There is also plenty of fresh produce and souvenirs, as well as a newsagency.

Their bathroom was also extremely clean, making it a far better choice than the usual filthy servos...

Service was good, nice little shop inside. Bought a foccacia after reading other reviews saying they were good and chose the roast pork with chilli jam. There was only one thin slice of roast pork on the bun, a decent serve of fresh Lettuce but it really was more of a Lettuce and chilli jam roll as the serving of pork was too skimpy.

The beef and mushroom pie was ok. Bottom was not quite cooked enough, it didn't fall apart but was still doughy. Nice big bits of mushroom though, but overall just an ok pie.

If I went back I'd get food cooked to order as the roll and pie were a bit...

Great little cafe/shop has all sorts from local gifts to fruit, veggies, frozen foods. Coffee is always amazing when I stop in. You can even pick up the local paper! Kew corner store have prepaid coffee cards which are such a good idea, makes for the morning rush a little easier. If you are driving through make sure you get off the hwy and check it out

What a lovely little place to stop for a rest and some good local food. We had a really nice lunch here. My plain beef pie was just perfect to be honest. Great flavour, loads of meat and the pastry was perfect. My daughter and wife both had rolls which were huge and tasted really good. The cafe is nicely decorated and the staff are all friendly.

We stop here often on our way north. Good quality, reasonably priced food. Nice outdoor seating (there is some indoor seating also but we normally like the fresh air). They've recently done up the car park which had a few potholes before it was done up, and added some extra seating. Looks great!
