If you're a fan of salamis and cheeses, prepare to have your taste buds serenaded at Lovedale Smokehouse! This hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Lovedale is a carnivore's paradise and a cheese lover's dream come true.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the most delightful aroma of smoked goodness. It's like the scent reached out and whispered, "You're in for a treat!" And boy, were they right! The selection of salamis and cheeses at Lovedale Smokehouse is nothing short of extraordinary.
Let's talk salamis. They have more types of salamis than I knew existed! From traditional favourites to unique and adventurous flavours, it was a salami symphony. I felt like I was in a conductor's podium, exploring the savoury notes of each salami variety. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, guiding me through the choices and offering delectable samples along the way.
As a cheese enthusiast, I was in awe of Lovedale Smokehouse's cheese collection. Gouda, cheddar, brie, blueâyou name it, they have it! The cheeses were artfully displayed, almost like a gallery of dairy masterpieces. I couldn't resist trying a cheese platter that showcased a beautiful assortment of flavours and textures. Accompanied by freshly baked bread and savoury crackers, it was a cheese party in my mouth!
What impressed me the most was the commitment to quality. Lovedale Smokehouse takes their craft seriously, using only the finest ingredients and traditional smoking techniques. Each bite of salami and cheese was a testament to their dedication to creating...
Read moreI was really disappointed by our visit to Lovedale Smokehouse this morning given its 4.6 stars on Google.
The team here were extremely under resourced. Only two waitresses to service the entire restaurant. One waitress was on coffee and one was taking orders, delivering food and clearing tables.
The QR code to order from the table didnât work. I stood in a queue for 25 minutes just to order breakfast.
While in the queue I noticed that the waitress taking orders and handling money, would then go to the kitchen to delivery food and back and forth in between. I noticed her touch some of food (milk bun to be precise) in order to make sure it didnât fall from the paper box. This is extremely unhygienic and not what you want to see when about to order breakfast.
The food and coffees came from the kitchen relatively quickly, 15-20 minutes. We were shocked to discover our coffees and food were delivered in paper cups and boxes. And most shockingly, our water was served in single use plastic cups.
While eating our breakfast, every table had used boxâs and cups. This cased a lot of flys to swarm the area. The waitresses were so busy that they clearly did not have time to clean the tables.
The icing on the cake for me, was receiving an email from Lovedale Smokehouse requesting that any negative feedback be emailed privately and positive feedback to be left as a Google review. This is very misleading to the public. I booked here for breakfast based on its positive reviews and was left really disappointed. Constructive reviews should be...
Read moreWe have been coming to the smokehouse for years being a local, we have always raved about the food here whilst the customer service always lacked but the food made up for it, but can i say the menu now is terrible, why fix something that wasn't broken, the simple philly cheese steak has been destroyed it was horrible not sure what is going on there but not great at all, the ribs seemed stale if thats possible, bring back the crispy chicken burger, the ruben the flavours didnt go well together, the BLT very messy to eat and flavours were missing it was terrible just fell apart , the sides of chips with the meals were no longer included so u need to pay extra if your going to make people pay for the chips maybe start making the chips worth the extra money BUT the most disappointing thing was the famous pan gravy is gone and replaced with some french dip gravy thats runny taste like water, why change the gravy, the gravy used to be Amazing ????? Cardboard containers and cardboard knives and forks which is normal for there But whats the go with the already lacking of personalities no one seemed like they wanted to be there, we had to ask them to speak up 3 times because they were mumbling.the hot chocolate was terrible we asked for no marshmallows due to an allergy and we discovered they were in the hot chocolate and had to be refunded, additionally and this is probably nick picking now but we were seated as a big group with only 1 menu but it wasn't even busy. Ive never left a bad review for any business before but this was a...
