Would not recommend! Travelled two hours from Sydney for a family occasion to Mountain Ridge Winery Restaurant. The staff appeared to be not coping very well when we arrived having in depth discussions about seating in front of guests, very unprofessional. The menu looked appealing and its a pity that the food did not match he description. We ordered the Bread Board to be served with our entrées. For $20 and in a regional area I expected more than thin toast with some what appeared to be manufactured dips. The Citrus Marinated Fish for entrée was very average. I could not taste the citrus marinade at all. The Coconut Fish and Chips is just that, fish and chips and the slaw served with it did nothing to improve it. On the plus side, home made chips were delicious. The Pork Belly was served with water logged Bok Choy and Sweet Potato, which was very sweet! We were the first sitting and was told when I ordered the Eton Mess it was sold out? Someone else on the table got the last Panna Cotta, so I had to settle for the Cheesecake. I expected a slice of Cheesecake with fresh mango on the side and Ginger Crumble on the top. Instead it was a custard/yoghurt (at least that is what it tasted like) mixture served in a glass, with the pineapple jelly and mango cut up inside. The filling was runny and horrible, at $16 I expected something different. Ghastly...
Read moreLocated on, you guessed it, a Mountain Ridge, just 8km from Berry. The winery has sweeping views of Coolangatta, Berry, Saddleback and Cambewarra Mountains. Head into the cellar door and you’ll find a bar to do tastings, a cafe and restaurant. But we recommend heading outdoors and having a wine after your tasting as the view is breathtaking! There’s also a elevated decking right out on the vines with some amazing art and we think they’ve done a great job architecturally in setting this place up. The wine tasting is enjoyable, and we undertake this in our group whilst seated outside. The cost for a group of 5 or more is $5 for a tasting fee. The place is super busy the day we are there, so you are recommended to book ahead. In the tasting, we walk through the wines from white to red with the Mountain Ridge semillon, Mountain Ridge Pinot Gris, Mountain Ridge Rose, Mountain Ridge Sparkling Chamborcin, and finish with a Mountain Ridge Tawny Port, perfect to pair with dessert. We personally also love their macadamia liqueur which we tried at a local restaurant. The host let us also try a watermelon liqueur slushee, all the rage at the moment, and seemed to be popular with people at the winery. This was my favourite! It’s an amazing place to visit if down in the south coast. We’ve already recommended this to plenty of people! It’s also kid and...

During my visit, I enjoyed a delightful breakfast, opting for the haloumi dish, which was excellent and provided the perfect fuel for a day of exploration. We chose to sit outside, and as the sun began to rise, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the valley, with the vineyard stretching out before us.
A charming highlight of our visit was a playful dog that approached us with a tennis ball, inviting us to engage in a game of catch and release. This added a touch of joy and warmth to our morning.
While I didn't get the chance to sample the wines due to the early hour, the overall experience at Mountain Ridge Wines was nothing short of delightful. The venue is easily accessible, with accommodations suitable for wheelchairs and prams, ensuring everyone can enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
In summary, I highly recommend Mountain Ridge Wines for its stunning views, excellent breakfast, and welcoming atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of...
