I travel from the border of NSW and Vic to Sydney every couple of weeks. You get over "fast food" quickly. A staff member, Zara served me the first time. I remember her name as she is the reason I've been returning. Her service and recommendations after asking what food I like, was outstanding. When you remember a servers name, you know they did something right. It's been two weeks since I was last here and Zara remembered both me and what I ordered. Ultimately, the friendly service, smiles, desire to help and overwhelmingly positive attitude of all the staff is somewhat infectious.
Looking at the menu, you see a small range of items but thus far, what I've eaten has exceeded my expectations. These two are my favourite thus far: The Butter chicken is spicy but blends well with flavours, not overpowering the taste with (spice) heat. The Peri Peri Chicjen burger is full of flavour and the sauce combines extremely well with the ingredients of the burger. Get one of their cookies in the case in-between the registers.
After asking a number of people who have eaten next to me, what they think about their meals is following. The Beef burger is "mmm yum". The chips are good. The sandwich isn't soggy and tastes nice.
This is not fast food when compared to the big chain 'restaurants', but the wait is worth it.
I've read all the reviews posted. The 1 star reviews for a bad food experience. Speak to the staff, they're amazing and would have helped you. If it's bad, they'll fix it for you.
I added cheese to the burger. It's good with or without it. It might look messy but it...
Read moreThis place is hands down one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid it at all costs.
We ordered a fair amount of food—around $160 worth—which included breakfast burgers, hashbrowns, and coffee. When the food arrived, it was incomplete. Some items were missing, and when we pointed this out to the staff, they suggested we bring back all the food to them (keep in mind, that’s $160 worth of food). Rather than just coming over to check or resolve the issue on the spot, we had to wait an additional 30-45 minutes. Finally, they claimed that they already gave our full order (which might’ve gone to someone else, who knows) and refused to refund us for what we didn’t get.
To make matters worse, there was no manager or supervisor present, and the staff were incredibly rude, defensive, and unwilling to admit any fault. They had no interest in making the situation right.
As for the food, it was awful. The hashbrowns were stale, tasted like fish, and the burgers were tiny and flavorless. We ended up leaving with less than what we ordered—no coffee that we paid for—and we were heading back to Melbourne (an 8-hour drive), so that was a real inconvenience.
This place is a joke. The 2.6-star rating is entirely deserved, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this business goes bankrupt soon (and I kind of hope it does). Do yourself a favor and avoid this disaster of...
Read moreI have been a fan of Oliver’s for years. I have stopped at most of their NSW outlets on the highways. Their food is a refreshing change from the deep fried rubbish of the fast food giants. I have to say however I agree with the review Gracie Ellis about the Breakfast Egg Wrap. It seems like such a good idea. I had one in the first week the Pheasants Nest (south bound) outlet opened very recently. Apart from being cold and tasteless it was poorly constructed - nothing like the picture on the electronic menu. The price might be justified if it meets their hype. I am hoping this is only a short term issue as they get their act together. I write this review on 23/12 on a busy holiday morning - they are reasonably busy so they must be doing something right. I just had a good macchiato (many baristas cannot make these well) and some healthy and tasty vege sticks with beetroot hummus. I stop at Pheasants Nest every couple of days so I will be back in the hope the wrap improves. I will do another review if things improve. One surprise bonus stopping here is they play excellent retro music - Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, The Band and The Doors may make me feel ready to forgive while I sit on their comfortable bench seat. Good...
