Delicious 👌🏾 We stopped here for lunch and it did not disappoint our cravings. There’s a fresh seafood shop next door along with a takeaway, both run by the same people. We started with a dozen Pacific oysters, big, fresh, and well worth it at $30 a dozen. Then we headed next door and tried the battered scallops, mussels, and oysters. The scallops were a standout and I’d definitely order them again. The oysters were good too, though I prefer them fresh. The mussels were my least favourite of the three, they tasted like the marinated/vinegary kind you’d find in a container. My husband, however, loved them (but then again, he’s a fan of those container ones too). We also shared the snapper battered fish, crispy on the outside, flaky inside, and very enjoyable. The chips were spot on and the small serve was the perfect portion for two. Visit date: 09/09/25

PKG Seafood Wholesale is by far the best Seafood joint I have had a feed from. If you want a bang for your buck this is the place to go! Not only are the prices insane the quality is amazing. I have seen in the below comments that people have experienced bad service. I had immaculate service. If you don’t feel like cooked seafood they also have fresh seafood you can buy which is the main part of their store. All of their produce is fresh and delectable! They have seating under shelter and outdoor seating which overlooks the river. The atmosphere isn’t 10/10 it isn’t for instagram selfies. But it is homey and has a gorgeous view. If I lived up here I would be buying seafood from here daily. The prices cannot be beat.

This is my go to for fresh seafood. Ever since moving to the area, discovering this gem has been a game changer. The selection is better than another fish shop just up the road, and the prices are a lot better too! The service is great, and they go above and beyond, like cutting your bugs for you and getting them ready for eating. The cooked seafood on-site is great too, always fresh, nothing ever tastes like it’s been cooked with old oil and it’s not greasy which leaves you feeling gross. Don’t bother going anywhere else in tweed. PKG is unassuming, but the quality and value is there.

I’m quite disappointed at Management for their treatment of a paying customer. My close friend had been a customer of PKG for many years until she had a bad experience with an order and the food was of poor quality. My friend left a review after returning home and trying to eat the poor quality food in hopes to offer feedback and the opportunity for the store to improve the standard of food served. After quite a lot of time had gone by since the said bad experience with the food quality my friend decided to give them another chance and she went to PKG to place an order for her family’s dinner. She ordered and paid, went outside to wait for the meal when the young man working asked her full name; She responded and asked why? He stated well didn’t you do a bad review! Then asked why she was there and ordering food when she had given them a bad review! She responded with, yes she had over a year ago but thought she would give them another chance. This worker then told her she should have gone back in there with the food and not left a review, but isn’t that what reviews are for??? My friend was there with her son, this is not good enough & unacceptable in my opinion. Not everyone is able to return to a store with said bad food at the time. No one knows the circumstances at the time. This is bad customer service in my opinion. PKG you have not only now lost my friend and her family as customers whilst you are running the store, but myself and my family and I’m sure many others will feel the same way and may just boycott your place of business too since your happy to turn paying customers...

Rang to inform store that I had purchased a dozen nz oysters that day and that some were off! The lady I spoke with was very appreciative that I had called and said she would have the boys have a look at the stock. I explained that I had eaten three and my wife one but the second one my wife tried was very off! She instantly spat it out and became ill. I then went through the remaining and found another three that were also bad and were a bit smelly. This is when I rang the store! During my conversation with the lady she told me to come into the store and I would get a store credit. I explained I didn't live in town so my next visit wouldn't be for a couple of days what should I do with the remaining oysters she said to throw them out! Two days later I went into store and spoke with who I assume is a manager I explained the situation and he told me the lady I had spoken to on the phone was the owner's wife. He also told me he personally had checked the stock on that day after the phone call and it was all fresh, he then asked if I had selected the oysters myself and implied that I may have intentionally selected bad oysters! He then told me he would replace 4 oysters! I had gone in that day to purchase a number of products for a nye bbq instead I left without anything and I won't be back. PKG is so not what it used to be...

Great location,on the water, with wild life to feed.[seagulls, pelicans, jabiru, and on premises water dragons] First impression on arrival though, was where is everybody! A large cavernous property, and looking a bit run down.. The premises have plenty of seating room indoors and outdoors. The take away section offers meals from $6,which is the basic fish and chips with lemon, and many option up from there.. We inspected the wet fish section, and as all the fish can be choosen to be eaten there on premises, with a small $5 per kilo cooking charge, its up to you .The Raw fish prices were I thought very expensive.from $20 per kilo. upwards, and only one type of oyster on shell was available at approx $12 per doz. Scallops were here at $4.40 per 4 pieces frozen,Roe on,grown in China, large, but without the flavour of the Kiwi Scallop, and the fresh prawn selection was very limited. The take away section, was reasonable with the basic fish and chips for $6 ish. As a foodie, and a drinker, the only fun thing here was the fact that one could bring any BYO grog you wished, and feed the wild fauna, and generally chill with no hassles, and eat the greasies, Its far from a cuisine experience, but if U want to chill by the water, and drink some...
