Saxby's Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in New South Wales

Normally, I go to this bakery heaps as a local on my way to work. I decided on my way home to get a snack from Saxby's after working the graveyard shift.

I was having issues with my phone for payment, and the lady who served me told me to "hurry it up and go outside" for service. This was initially a shock because I normally have a great time at saxbys, and the staff are always friendly.

I also waited a long time (about 15 minutes) for my toastie and coffee, and while I was waiting, I was getting some dirty looks from the workers. I was the only one in the store.

When i received my toastie, it was super flat like a pancake, and it was burnt.

It is really disappointing that a place i love going to has staff members who tarnish their reputation and comfortability for reoccurring customers. I will still stop here for a coffee and pastry, but the staffs attitudes really need to be picked up in early...

Stopped in here for a pie and coffee. Big bakery with a huge assortment of hot food and cakes. It was easy to browse the menu, make a selection, and order.

Service was five stars because of the red headed chap who served me. He was bursting with charisma and happiness, which out a smile on my face and made it a great start to the day.

I ordered a Chilli Steak pie and a flat white. Pie was served the correct way, without a foil base. It was just the right temperature. It was easy to demolish with one hand. It was packed to the brim with filling and the pie maintained its structure until the last bite. A great pie!

The coffee was about 7/10. Definitely worth getting a cup.

I bought a steak/pepper pie which was all over an 8/10, no photo was too busy eating it

Crust was disappointing and if updated would make it at least a 9. It was a little soft and doughy tasting and textured, and a little bland with none of the expected puff pastry crisp on the top

Once you make your way into the delicious interior all is forgotten because, my god, was that a great filling. The pepper was strong enough that you are left with a lasting pepper finish, with decent enough steak chunks and the gravy was not overpowering and not over-salted.
