The Local — Restaurant in New South Wales

I'm a big fan of food tasting like the menu reads..that's a given. I ordered the Eggs Bennie... Now...unfortunately I DO understand that for various reasons some cafes can't whisk up Bennie Sauce.. time being the main factor...so it behoves the owners to carefully select a replacement if you're going "commercial"...and sadly that's not the case here. A generic goop that covers your tastebuds with an easily recognisable commercial, chemical concoction. Worse still, my eggs were hard boiled, so I had nothing to cut the taste with, and believe me when I say the entire dish was awash with their "Bennie Sauce"! To add a further layer of yuk the "toast" was layered with wet spinach. Wilted is fine, but when it's WET the toast turns into a nursing home version of soppiness....

This wee cafe in Delaney does not look like a palace but do’t be fooled. Try one of the toasted sandwiches full & I mean full of goodness and beautifully toasted. If they have muffins, book one.
