We couldn't resist calling in here on our way home from Thredbo, and it was truly a highlight of our holiday. The hotel and restaurant is exquisite. An historical gem that has been beautifully restored with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has a glass atrium as part of the dining area to the rear. We loved the outlook towards the lawns and garden. So pretty! Lunch was absolutely delicious. From tender ribs to gnocchi, lamb, and great kids meals as well. Service was second to none. If you are passing through Cooma, stop and enjoy a visit to this gorgeous establishment. Thank you! We will definitely be back.

Amazing! The newly opened (1 week in) restaurant was a really lovely place for lunch. Inside and out it is such a lovely space to be, with clearly so much care and attention to detail. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly and genuine. Plus they all loved on my puppy in the garden. The food was delicious and also a great menu that wasn't like every other place. Even my 8 year old finished ALL of her meal which never happens. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent restaurant for a Sunday lunch. Outstanding food and customer service, in a great setting May 29 2022 - New menu! Even more excited to try every delicious sounding meal on the menu. Superb, and getting even better, setting a very high standard

Great place to relax wonderful surroundings best sausage roll ever tasted great blend of coffee too, don't forget to add a home made cream puff. Had a fantastic pulled lamb burrito for lunch from the Restaurant 1861 which is open from 11am. It was huge had to get them to pack up half of it as a take away, very reasonably prices and licensed with a great selections of beverages. Décor and surroundings stylish but relaxing. Can't wait to go back and lounge around in the Atrium area, the indoor plants just make this place so special. Top spot to chill and do some retail therapy if you like antiques and homewares or just have a great meal in beautiful surroundings day or night but only open ...

We were recommended this venue for our wedding by a family friend. Immediately, I was impressed with the beauty of this venue inside and out. Stunning. However, we were still unsure about whether to select this venue. Then I spoke to the chef and venue manager Johnny. Immediately, he impressed me with his desire to cater to our tastes and the amount of detail, time and flexibility he offered us. Johnny is a legend! We also stayed in the honeymoon suite for 2 nights. Very nice, very unique. Great memories. Hope to return and reminisce soon. Thanks...
