You know when your in a country town when one of there regulars and their beautiful sheep dog keeps sneaking in to be with its master. What a place!! You've gotta love it. The Udder Cow Cafe is the centre piece for the town of Comboyne. The food is made with love and when you see on the menu 'Slow food philosophy'. How can I not ignore their homemade chicken pie with salad. Unfortunately the homemade Reuben with focaccia was sold out. So the missus and our son ordered a focaccia melt with avocado and ham. The chef came out to personally apologise as they ranout of focaccia bread. Though offered homemade sourdough bread, wholemeal and white bread. Our son was curious enough to try the Comboyne shake( apple juice, fresh avocado, soy milk, fresh fruit, yoghurt, honey and cinnamon). I had a sip and it was certainly different. My son loved. Verdict/Service.. the meals were delicious and service was down to earth with a spark of that homely feel.

Great but quaint cafe. Under new management and they are doing a fab job. There is even a ‘welcome dog’ named Lewis who is very friendly. I have posted a pic of the menu - it is a good menu with not too many options but what is there is all good. I had the Comboyne smoothie but without avocado HOWEVER I should have had avocado and so should you because it tasted super!! My daughter had it with avocado so I drank some of hers. The barramundi with lemon potato was excellent. We also had the chicken focaccia which was nice but a bit plain - probs needs some tasty sauce options. The owners are nice and worth supporting. It is good that the udder has been revived and going strong. Highly recommended. EDIT; All the pictures are from the day we were there so I’m not sure why the owners reply said ‘a lot of photos from the last owner’. Anyway it was good.

Someone says quaint, others cosy, and I’d say super cute. This cafe is really well located in a little town Comboyne and it’s a must stop by cafe if you are doing a road trip around the area. We stopped by on the way from Ellenborough falls. The food was good, we ordered open melt sandwich - chicken and veggie ones, which were very nice. A little hashbrown piece come with them, which was nice without greasy oil. We had to have dessert too, a bowl of ice cream and key lime pie. The pie was so full of lime flavour. The service was excellent too, the girls were friendly and attentive, although it was busy sunday lunchtime with full tables. They have both outdoor and indoor tables and very pleasant atmosphere. Definitely not shy with the moo cow theme! I felt like we’re definitely in dairy farm country. Definitely worth to check in if you are around!
