As you drive up the driveway, you see this sculpture of golden sheafs of wheat. We visited this place from Sydney on a Saturday for the 11.30am seating.
Use their reservation form to book in advance, and you get a reply message saying that you will be responded to in 2 business days. We were originally told that our preferred booking time was full, but got a text message the day before to say that there was a spot for 2 people available.
We got there early at about 10.30am and spent about 45 mins walking around the circular lake and taking photos near the sculptures of birds, butterflies, chinese statues etc. Be warned that there are a lot of flies outdoors, so douse yourself in Aeroguard before you go.
The restaurant opens at 11.30am on the dot, and you can pay $35pp via cash or eftpos for the buffet. A waiter takes you to your table which is a nice touch. He mentions that there is a fee according to the restaurants food wastage policy, which is a good thing given the amount of waste I have seen at other buffet places and it mentally forces you not to over-pile your plate.
There's a selection of 8 deep fried entrees, soup, rice, curry, various mains, sushi, 2 types of dumplings and a desserts and fruit counter. The food gets constantly refilled and the sushi is made by two women in front of you. I liked that they had two types of drink included in the buffet (lemon ice tea and orange juice). Other places usually do not have any drinks or dessert included. Other drinks were available for purchase.
Lots of families of chinese background were there, who had booked out entire tables of 10 people, so very popular it seemed. We did not eat eggs, so weren't able to try some of the foods, as they were labelled "contains eggs".
It's a nice day trip to do once and enjoy some chinese style vegetarian food in a...
Read moreMost disappointing turn of service for this restaurant. Spoiled our Father’s Day lunch. Ordered food came late and staff disappeared for subsequent order. Left hungry and dry while other tables were left to order themselves.
Finally when someone arrived, desert order was turned down order at 1 pm while the closure is 2 pm. None of the ala carts did arrive and the choice of chef specials have turned to worse. Not repeating this mistake of coming here again.

Wow, what a hidden gem! I stumbled upon Zen Oasis Restaurant and was blown away by the incredible vegetarian options. As a non-vegetarian, it's not often that I find a vegetarian place that truly impresses, but Zen Oasis exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creative - I loved every bite!
But what really made our visit special was the stunning garden and play area. After lunch, we strolled through the beautiful gardens, admiring the serene water features and vibrant plants. And then, we discovered the play area - a fantastic space for kids (and adults!) to burn off energy and have fun. Swings, obstacle course and a see-saw it was like a mini paradise!
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with friendly staff and a cozy ambiance. I highly recommend Zen Oasis for a fabulous lunch and a fun afternoon out with family or friends. We can't wait to...
Read moreIt has been a while since I've been back to this hidden gem.
From a nostalgic rustic built homestead which used to serve a wide selection of vegetarian/ vegan Asian cuisines in a lunch buffet style to a more modern, elegant and spacious homestead with a wide selection of vegetarian/vegan Yum cha style dishes.
The drive to Zen Oasis has always been quite therapeutic for me. It's always nice to be able to get away from my busy day to day routines to just enjoy the open space and great food. The picturesque of the country outlook is breath taking and totally priceless.
Not many venues offer free garden entry with great food. Most venues charge at least $15 for garden entry. A great open space to stroll around the garden. We could possibly fly our kites if the weather permits in the near future.
A great selection of food that are pushed out on trolleys by friendly multilingual staffs.
An interesting fact! Their iced tea is made by real lemons, real natural ingredients which is quite rare to find nowadays. Even their noodles are handmade.
My favourite dishes include the Vietnamese rice roll, mushroom ball soup, Enoki fried mushrooms and the sizzling hot noodles.
I will definitely be visiting Zen Oasis again! I also look forward to seeing what they'll be adding in the other empty rooms/ space. Hopefully their Spring Festival will return soon....
