Dartagnan's Café — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Me and my partner just ordered breakfast after me arriving home form a night shift as a nice treat and i have to say i am seriously impressed with how polite and friendly the staff are and how fresh and beautiful our food was, its such a refreshing and pleasurable feeling dealing with the staff with how friendly they are. My partner is breastfeeding and carnt have full cream milk without upsetting bubs but dartagnans have made it with lactose free milk smoothie and been so accommodating on multiple occasions for my partner and son. I am very thankful of that and I really send my gratitude to every staff member that has made my family comfortable everytime we have visited prior to lockdown. I highly recommend dartagnans cafe. The food is amazing and the staff are just as amazing. Thank you all for doing an amazing job ,Keep up the great work...

My husband has also reviewed. Honestly, how long does it take to cook haloumi and a couple of poached eggs. Scrambled eggs and bacon? Ordered at 12:09pm. About 30 minutes later, our orders came out - except my vegetarian breakfast was not vegetarian. Complained and sent it back. Took another 20 minutes before my vegetarian big breakfast came out.

Very little apology about the mistake and wait. Other than the waiting staff saying sorry for the wait. Not good enough. Reading reviews, we are not the only ones with similar complaints. Obviously, the owner's comments about talking to the staff is having no effect.

Burger and wrap orders were coming out much quicker. Really, if the business can't manage big breakfasts after breakfast time, then the Cafe should not advertise All...

My daughter and I came here for a late breakfast/lunch, she ordered pancakes and I got a BLAT with an iced latte. The food took a bit longer than average to arrive at the table (probably because they were super busy) but once it arrived it was cooked fresh and was delicious, my only criticism would be that my BLAT could have had a bit more bacon to make it balanced with the other ingredients. My daughter said her pancakes were yummy and she would order them again. The iced latte on oat milk was made very well, except it was served in what looked like a jam jar - I have never understood or appreciated that fad, but that's probably more a me thing than them.
