Had an amazing experience staying 2 nights at the airbnb at the Darwin River Tavern. I usually don't write reviews but my friend and I both agree that the food at the restaurant was one of the best we had on our road trip. Though a tad pricey at first glance, the portion size was big enough for the two of us to share which makes it value for money! Food was delicious, especially the salt and pepper calamari. It was so addicting, we ordered it for 2 days straight and I'm still craving it now 🤤 We also really loved the entire vibe at the tavern; the really old-school 90s kinda vibes. Do check out the tavern if you're around the area!

What a great NT pub with ice cold beer and warm friendly service.

Absolutely terrible food! Really really disappointing experience. We took visiting family out for a meal only to be served over cooked minute steak (apparently a rump?) with cold gravy. The steak had also been hacked in the middle by the chef to make sure it was completely dead. Others in our group ordered the 'seafood' basket to find powdery calamari and miniature 'king' imported prawns. Although we live in Darwin we will never go back. You may also want to check on the limp turtle in the corner of your tank...

Title: A Gem in the Outback - Darwin River Tavern Review

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Darwin River Tavern, and I must say it exceeded all expectations. Nestled in the heart of the Australian Outback, this tavern offers a delightful escape from the bustling city life.

The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor and friendly staff instantly made me feel at home. The tavern's location, surrounded by the picturesque beauty of the Outback, added to its charm.

The menu at the Darwin River Tavern is a true delight for food enthusiasts. From traditional Australian pub classics to mouthwatering seafood dishes, there is something to satisfy every palate. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation of each dish were evident in every bite. I highly recommend trying their famous barramundi or the succulent steaks cooked to perfection.

The tavern also boasts an impressive selection of beverages, ranging from ice-cold beers to an extensive wine list. Whether you are a beer lover or a wine connoisseur, you will find a drink to complement your meal or simply enjoy on its own.

What sets the Darwin River Tavern apart is its commitment to providing exceptional service. The staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable dining experience. From the moment I entered until the time I left, I felt well taken care of and valued as a customer.

In addition to the fantastic food and service, the Darwin River Tavern offers a range of entertainment options. Live music performances on weekends create a lively and vibrant atmosphere, adding to the overall enjoyment of the visit. The tavern also hosts various events and functions, making it a versatile venue for any occasion.

Overall, my experience at the Darwin River Tavern was nothing short of exceptional. It is a hidden gem in the Outback, offering delicious food, great drinks, and impeccable service in a stunning natural setting. Whether you're a local or a visitor passing through, I highly recommend paying a visit to this remarkable...

Food was cooked well and tasty, poor service let the kitchen's good work down. At $18 for a burger you'd think a small basket of chips could be less than $6.

Tried to order at 11.45, kitchen staff had to press button 3 times to get bar staff to bistro to take my order. Took about 5 minutes. Ok, perhaps lunch staff start at noon, no biggie. Meal was cooked and sitting on the counter at 12.20. Not under heat lamps. It took 10 minutes and many buzzer presses from the kitchen to get bar staff to bistro to serve food. Not wanting to be the keyboard coward in a review I raised the delay with the staff member who said they came as soon as they heard the buzzer. Either they are deaf, a liar or your buzzer is broken. No real apology, no offer to redo anything. Chips were luke warm but just passable, onion rings were cold, burger was ok. I'm a Darwin local and used to the territory's more casual approach to service but at these prices for almost cold chips I won't be back. Will return to Berry Springs Tavern anytime I find myself back this way. Better value....

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Darwin River Tavern all the way from Saudi Arabia, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible culinary experience at Smoky J's BBQ. The flavors were outstanding, and the warm hospitality extended by Smoky J's family made me feel right at home. thank you :)

The tranquil ambiance around the pool provided a relaxing retreat. Pairing the delicious meal with a cold Darwin River Lager was the perfect touch to complement the savory flavors of the BBQ. The friendly and attentive staff further enhanced the dining experience, ensuring that every moment was enjoyable and memorable.

I cannot recommend Darwin River Tavern highly enough. The exceptional service, delectable food, and inviting environment make it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in Darwin, do not miss the opportunity to experience the magic of Darwin River Tavern - you won't be...
