Out of the Blue Esperance — Restaurant in Nulsen

Bit of a long review but this place deserves it. After a week's holiday in Esperance we hit the road to Albany but was turned around an hour out of Esperance due to a bushfire. Lucky for us we had a friend with a spare room for the night. We were to tired to cook dinner that Tuesday night and our local friend Logan who recommended you pulled up your menu. Menu had a bit of everything but we decided on burgers. 3 classics + pineapple with chips to share. Lovely friendly service and not a long wait at all. We took the burgers home starving and keen. We unwrapped the white packaging paper giving off a real comforting/homemade feeling. Each bite was better than the next. The soft bun incased this thick, juicy and seasoned to perfection beef patty, sitting on top of a bed of caramelised onions. The crunchy lettuce and fresh tomato with the cooked pineapple adding the cherry on top. The chips were also amazing giving off the taste that they had been cooked with the pineapple which was delicious. I've tried a lot of burgers being from Perth but nothing compares to the simplicity and old schoolness of yours. Taking the top of my favourite burger list. 11/10 wishing we tried you sooner. ....What a disappointment. I've worked in hospo and I understand mistakes happen and things don't always work out in customer service, so I'm a very understanding person, but my experience here had me trembling with anger. I should've looked at the LATEST reviews instead of overall reviews (change in management maybe?). I was told my order would take 20-25mins but it ended up waiting an HOUR. I repeatedly checked in to see how my order was going and the front of house service was young and anxious and had no experience how to handle customers appropriately. Instead of keeping me informed saying "Hey, I'm sorry, the fish is taking longer than expected. Can you come back in an hour?" They just chose to ignore me and hope I would continue to sit patiently for over double the amount of time. Ridiculous. After waiting for AGES, the food wasn't even fresh or hot or any good. After seeing other reviews, we were excited to try a pizza but despite being 'open 6 days a week', the store was closed the past two working days.

Regardless, we ordered a salad & an 'Esperance Meat Supreme', which was confirmed by the lady before paying. Once ready, we drove away starving to discover we were given someone else's pizza, seemingly the 'Out of the Blue Supreme' having double-checked the ingredients on the menu.

Although the salad was ok, it was packed in single-use plastic, which has been banned for months now.
