Took my mum and 2 daughters for their “famous” high tea. We arrived and directed up a flight of stairs So easy for my 86 year old mum. When we got up there and seated. We asked for tea. They informed us that we need to go get it ourself. Down the stairs we just walked up. I asked. “This is high tea” ? “No table service ??? No they said. I went down to go get our tea 🤣🤣🤣🤣. It was sooooo bad that we couldn’t stop laughing. A waiter pointed, “over there”. A table with a line up of people. The table had hot water, tea bags and coffee cups. It was soooo bad we just had to laugh Any way. Food came out. 2 tiny finger sandwiches to share between 4 people. Top plate had a few chocolate decadent brownie/ treats on it. No choice And the bottom layer consisted of 4 scones. Straight from the fridge. Not even at room temperature All this for the small fee of $350 😳😳😳 The place needs a damn good clean and the service is incredibly poor. I would of given them a 0 star...
Read moreAn absolute joke! Waited in the slowest queue to order, asked (specifically) how long food will be because i needed to be going by a certain time & be assured 15 mins. Sat down at a grotty table (all tables in the same state) covered in food scraps and dirty plates that the staff constantly walk past, look at and keep walking. Tried to follow up on my food by asking the staff, but they made eye contact, ignored me and kept walking (all the walking eith zero sense of urgency I might add!) Finally got up and chased a server around the venue to ask for my meal to be followed up on. Was then eventually told (50 mins after ordering) that they must have lost the docket, and they could have my meal out in 15 to 20 mins. As you can imagine- I had to leave without any food! Can't say I've ever recieved such poor...
Read moreLovely little cafe and souvenir shop Cafe is out at the back with views of the mountains Great place to have lunch and relax after some hikes
I got the grilled fish of the day and the ladies were so kind to change chips to sweet potato fries for me! The salmon was really fresh but had some fine bones and was not fully cooked in the centre. Salad that came with the dish was fresh and yummy as well. $32 is steep for this dish but produce had to make a long way up the mountain to get to the cafe so it was probably reasonable.
If you get regular chips at $12 the portion is huge, just to note.
They also had a pastry section with really good looking big muffins at $7 and other classics like vanilla slice $12. I would have gotten those if I had more time to relax at...
