Wabi Sabi Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Ocean Shores

I've eaten here many times and find the food and staff always good and helpful. I'd like to leave a better review but yesterday I was mid-mouthful when the Duty Manager said to me "I'm going to get you to move" so she could accommodate a man and his 2 children on the end benches. I looked around and the place was 30% full, so there were many other options (and in the end I moved for nothing as the man and his 2 children took one of those other options). I'm from Sydney originally and have eaten at many small, ethnic eateries (Asian holes in the wall with people outside waiting to queue up) and never in my life has anyone 'told me' (she didn't even ask me) to move mid-mouthful. She could see how disgusted I was and was nice to me after that, however the damage had been done. Clearly someone who tells someone to move mid-mouthful is missing a few of the essential qualities of being a professional customer...

Yeah so after many many months probably years of eating there I am informed today that my favourite dish is not gluten free & has never been. I have asked repeatedly about the batter used in the Karage Chicken & been told it's GF, the oil not as it's the same oil everything else is cooked in (FINE) I can tolerate that, understandable. HOWEVER - to learn this today after countless meals there eating this dish thinking I was in fact okay apart from some minor cross contamination. No.. Apparently everyone else I asked was misinformed. I am DONE with this place, you wont see another dollar out of me or my family which is another 11 people who I will tell strictly on principal not to eat there again....

Was looking for food in Mullumbimby. Wasn't sure where to eat so thought i'd give this place a go. So glad I did. The food was amazing! I love good sushi, there are a few good sushi place is Byron bay. But this has to be the best sushi in Byron bay by far. The hot ramen noodle on a cold night just made me feel at home. I also have to mention the salmon sashimi poke bowl. Sooo good! Will be bringing my girlfriend back here next week as I can see this would be an ideal date spot. Can't wait to try the curry I smelt coming out of the kitchen. Thanks for a great meal! Will be coming back any time i'm in Mullumbimby...
