Gumtree Cafe — Restaurant in Orroroo

Don't stop in here for a pie. It's the saddest pie you'll ever get. Not even gravy, it's a jelly with no beef in it. If you feeling like spending $9, give is a shot and you too will be able to experience the new worse pie you've ever eaten.

Edit: I have only written two bad reviews. One for you, one for hungry jacks. One other business isn't "a lot of businesses". This might be why you think your pies have "a lot of meat"..

Also deep dish pie, might be twice the size in pastry, but less actual meat than a party pie. It's quality over quantity.

The Gumtree Cafe was the perfect place for our lunch break: as I read in the reviews, the pie was indeed fantastic, but also my wife's veggie burger was extremely tasty - and on top, they made a great plain burger for the kids which they both loved (chapeau!) and a delicious coffee afterwards. All of it accompanied by really friendly staff. We were almost a little bit sad that we'll not have a chance to come back more often (since this was just a road trip stop for us). But if you come e.g. from Flinders Ranges (as we did), looking for a break, don't miss this...

I really wanted to love this pie. I ordered the chicken and the filling was bland, slightly chicken flavoured cornstarch jelly with no discernible chicken in it and a smattering of veggies. Not what chicken pies should be in either taste or consistency. I did not enjoy it at all and has been the worst pie I have eaten in my month long, Australia wide journey of pies, everyday.
