Drove 25 KM just to try the food as the reviews looked so good; It did not disappoint! I had the trout trio, which was super fresh and my partner had the mushroom medley, which was pumped with flavor. I normally am not a fan of gnocchi, but this one was outstanding! To complement the main course, we had the restaurant’s ‘red wine tasting’ and the local red wines in particular the ‘Pinot Noirs’ were fantastic! We finished our hearty meal with the chocolate lava cake, which was so moist and juicy; one of the best I’ve had! Overall, could tell really good ingredients were being used, executed to perfection and at very reasonable prices. Hard to come by and we’re so happy we came by!
Staff was super friendly and made us feel at home away from home. After dinner, we had a very interesting and engaging conversation with whom we realized towards the end was the man himself - Chef Ingo! We left with not just a full stomach, but a full heart too!
We truly appreciate the good talks and hospitality, which led to us booking a night at the lodge for our way back to Perth a few days later, because the overall experience was so great!
Thank you so much for having us twice in 3 days! Definitely an experience we’re very fond of and will continue to speak highly of for a long time! Next time we’re back in Pemberton, we’re definitely...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant for my son's birthday and the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. However the attitude of the restaurant staff was appalling. Initially the front of house staff member went out of their way to accommodate us including table decorations for my son's birthday. I ordered the Marron Chowder which states on the menu includes chunks of Marron, of which there was not one piece, just a few prawns and frozen shrimp in a tasteless liquid. When the front of house staff collected our plates I stated I was not happy with my meal, my exact words were 'I was disappointed with my meal as there was not any Marron' and they replied 'it states on the menu its cooked in Marron broth and we've never had complaints before.' (This is incorrect as i have since read the reviews) Then took our plates away. My daughter then overheard the front of house staff and the chef talking about us in the kitchen which I will not repeat as the language was disgraceful. When paying for our meal my daughter in-law confronted them about about this to which she was told we were disappointing customers. My family and I have worked in customer service for many years so I am always careful my feedback is provided in a respectful manner and I can honestly say I have never been treated this way by restaurant...
Read moreCompletely stuffed up my order and made us pay full price despite me clarifying multiple times that they understood the order and them proudly affirming how they were able to cater for my request which was simply to have a vegan meal. My issue was not with the server but with the kitchen. The server had been working there for three months and English is her second language. The kitchen and manager should have had plenty of time to explain what vegan means. Don't go here if you're vegan, don't want overpriced food or are looking for a restaurant where the kitchen and manager know what they're doing.
*In response to your company's reply, I ate it because the only thing I find more abhorrent than eating animal products is wasting them. I come from a background of sustainability and I'm not about to waste food, that's always been my ethos. If your staff were paying any attention they'd notice I was crying the entire time. When I booked I mentioned I was vegan to the receptionist and you only had one other customer that night so there's two staff members now that got it wrong. As I said, I'm disappointed with management. It's their job to make sure their staff are educated in...
