Kings Canyon Bar and Grill is an absolute gem in the heart of the outback. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed — exactly what you want after a day of exploring such a stunning part of Australia. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a great vibe that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The food was the real highlight. I ordered the burger, and I can honestly say it was one of the best I’ve had — perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavour. It was hearty and satisfying, exactly the kind of meal you crave after a long day. I also tried the schnitzel, and it was just as impressive — crisp on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavour. The fresh salad on the side was a lovely surprise, balancing the richness of the schnitzel perfectly with its freshness and crunch. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients.
Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive. The buffet was beautifully presented and offered a wide range of options to suit everyone. There was plenty of hot food for those who like a hearty start to the day, and I was particularly impressed by the amount of fresh fruit available. It was clear that a lot of care had gone into providing a variety of choices, and it really set the tone for the day ahead. Enjoying a relaxed breakfast with such a great spread in the middle of Kings Canyon made it feel extra special.
What I loved most about Kings Canyon Bar and Grill is that it combines hearty, delicious meals with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It doesn’t try to be over the top — instead, it focuses on getting the basics right and doing them really well. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked burger, a golden schnitzel, or a breakfast buffet that leaves you fuelled and happy, everything feels generous and genuine.
If you’re visiting Kings Canyon, a stop at the Bar and Grill is a must. It’s the perfect place to refuel, relax, and enjoy quality food after a day of adventure. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area — you won’t be...
Read moreWhile it's easy to understand that due to the remote location of many establishments in the NT, overhead costs with food delivery and storage can be high, and so prices tend to be a bit more than what visitors may expect. However, my experience in every other restaurant has been that with the premium price comes fantastic food. Unfortunately, that experience came to a screeching halt here, where $20 gets you a burger comprised of poorly cut tomatoes and lettuce, and a beef patty that has the approximate thickness of a fifty cent piece.
To charge someone twenty dollars for the kind of embarassing, slapdash mess of a burger that I was given should be a point of acute humiliation for a fry cook at a fast food restaurant, let alone a chef at an establishment that purports to be a "grill". Served with a side of fries that should at the very least be doubled in quantity to cover more of the plate and perhaps obfuscate the daylight robbery of the burger, my first and final meal here has been the unequivocal lowlight of my entire visit to this beautiful state.
The staff and ambiance are both great, and far be it from me to imply the servers are in any way responsible for this palty, half-hearted attempt at what I am frankly remiss to even call a burger. Their friendly demeanor and prompt service however cannot eclipse the raw disappointment currently sitting in front of me, covering approximately a quarter of the plate. So I write this twenty dollars the poorer in the hopes that you will avoid making the same mistake. You may think me harsh, but trust that I have eaten often and well in my travels, and this is the greatest sharp let-down I have experienced since I bungee jumped off a bridge some...
Read moreVery very disappointed in the meal that my partner and i received at Kings Canyon Bar and Grill. We ordered the beef ribs, after quite a wait they came out looking extremely fatty and the appearance on the plate was horrible. We proceeded to pick through the ribs and try and eat what we could, however there was more fat on the plate than there was beef. I then took the meal up-to the kitchen staff and said that it was very fatty and literally inedible, not to mention the appearance of the meal. The bald middle aged man that I was talking to was unaccommodating and extremely arrogant, towards me. He then proceeded to say that this is how the meal should be and that there is no refund or anything that he could do about the meal. He was very short and abrupt in his response and didn’t want any responsibility for the issue. I was then up vomiting that night, feeling very sick and ill. I do not recommend eating dinner there again, as the reviews clearly speak for them selves. All in all a terrible experience from the food to the bald middle aged man in...
