Food was great, tasty and well presented. However I am unable to give more than 2 stars due to the plague of flies which swarmed the place and made it impossible to eat the food. We moved from the patio to the indoor eating area, however this made no difference as there were no fly screens and all the doors were wide open. In an attempt to get some peace I put some crusts on the side to distract them while I tried to finish my meal. They immediately swarmed onto this (I took the picture below to show just how many there were). Unfortunately the tactic didn't really work and in the end my partner and I had to abandon the meal half way through out of frustration and fear of food contamination. I know wildlife and flies are inevitable and I do not mind a few buzzing around here and there, however this was way beyond that, with around 40-50 flies constantly trying to land on our food throughout. What is more concerning is that the cafe has an open kitchen so I dread to think what it is like inside the cooking area, and what contamination had already occurred before the food was brought out. In the spirit of constructive criticism, I think having an indoor eating area that is protected by either a screen or door would do wonders for the enjoyment of guests. At the very least, a closed door to the cooking area is necessary in the interest of hygiene. It was a real shame as this cafe came highly recommended to us and we feel the food was of a good standard, had we been able to eat it in peace.

Was visiting the area and had been recommended the Bingil Bay Cafe by many people. We tried calling before coming to see if we needed to book but wasn’t able to get through. There were plenty of tables available. Food ordered: - Eggs and bacon (the eggs being scrambled cost $3 extra) - Eggs and bacon (soft fried) - Smashed avocado on sourdough and added a coached egg and bacon. Drinks ordered: - Fresh orange juice - Iced coffee - Caramel thick shake - Iced latte - Banana smoothie Food was generally good. Bacon was a little burnt for some, rather than crispy. The price was a little high compared to other locations we’ve tried locally. It’s a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Cute quirky cafe with great food. Lots of antique looking furniture and fun wall murals and a cool mechanical style fan system under the front veranda. We had fish tacos and the calamari and octopus and were both amazing and very filling. The chips were really nice and the salad with my calamari was really really nice and refreshing with fresh shredded beetroot in it. Oh and my fresh pineapple juice with Malibu was serially delicious.

Greeted at BBC by two aggressive barking dogs owned by customers seated at the entrance was not a good start.

Pick up your menus at the counter, get seated, go back to the counter, order and pay. Food and utensils are served to your table. Customer service is average and un extraordinary.

Although the staff seemed to be having fun with themselves as we could hear them shouting and laughing during our meals.

We had laksa, burgers, parma, fish taco & drinks. All were regular type cafe food. Prices are on the high side for what you get.

It has its breezy funky bohemian vibe going for it but room for improvement with what its offering diners.

Update Feb 2025 Too many flies and it’s always a race to eat before the flies do. Food was pricey but good & tasty. Service was friendly...
