Fairways Tavern — Restaurant in Queensland

Sunday lunch time, not overly busy. Waited over 1hour for food to arrive. I don’t mind waiting, but they need to have communicated that when ordering, so patrons can decide what to do.

Other tables were also visibly annoyed at waiting.

Food arrived and was basically inedible, and my order was not complicated.

Loaded Fries- not shoestring as advertised, cold, chewy and soggy at the same time. Missing ingredients. Over melted the cheese that turned to concrete such as simple dish to mess up.

Caesar Wrap- arrived with the wrap completely split open, so unable to be picked up as a wrap. Waiter looked at the broken wrap and just plonked it down. Annoyingly the contents of the wrap were actually nice, just had to be eaten not in the wrap.

Overall disappointing considering the good value lunch specials were very appealing.

Mystery location, If exposure was considered a key to success of running the business this one is questionable.? This location is somewhat very convenient but actually finding it is more challenging than desired. Perhaps, local residents know how to enter the premises but for someone who was looking for a place to enjoy good meal it’s nearly impossible. Overall ambience, depressing, dark, scattered tables ( very solid and most of all clean) . If this is what represents the Fairways and it’s highlife.... it leaves a lot to desire BUT ——————- Great food, very tasty, very generous portions, well chilled beer! One of us ordered a burger 🍔 and it was something one would only dream off. All meals compensated the letdown of the premises.

If this review could direct traffic to this venue we would stop 🛑 ✋ everyone who was looking for a hearty meal and recommend...

The pub has such great potential! Really great for kids however I haven’t had a good feed here yet!

As a family we haven’t been here for a few months due to past experiences but we thought tonight we would give them another chance.

Extremely long waits for a Wednesday night (close to a hour and a half wait) steak came out well over cooked when I asked for medium rare.

I’m not a person to complain but I thought maybe I would let them know so they could improve.

I had a lovely lady come take my plate back to the kitchen to have the chef tell her there’s nothing wrong with the way it’s cooked. The lovely waitress agreed with me that my meal was not medium rare

(I guess the food will never improve if the chef can’t accept feedback)
